Will De Gale and Groves stick to their bet after Saturday Night?

Zero chance, Adam Booth said as much on Skysports as well. Pity, would have been cool to see that.

 

apparently its allready been called off hasnt it, booth saying it goes against bboc rules which i heard frank warren saying something about actually at the conference but sky cut the sound to something else

 

it would be good PR for either man to say "forget about the bet"

could you imagine if they have a 12 round war and DeGale wins a debatable split decision and starts shouting "I want my money"

 

Even if it did go ahead, i could see Degale being decent and giving George some mercy and letting him take the money...

 

What people seem to forget is that from a fighters gross purse his Manager has to take his Percentage, his Trainer has to take his percentage, his cutsman and other seconds has a cut to take, maybe even a Strength and conditioning coach has a cut, maybe even a nutricianiist or agent/adviser, Maybe Degales trainer forgot when he was egging him on. The BBB of C will never allow this to happen because they want to seperate boxing from gambling to ovoid betting scandal and also if it was allowed it could open it up for everyone to do it. I noticed Degales muppet trainer offered a bet with Booth for £20,000, Booth would get better odds at the bookies for Groves, so I don't think he that stupid. Aftert this it would be nice to see Groves win just to see the look on Degales face and his trainer after such Bull****.

 

I hope Groves wins this, Degale and Mcd acting like kids ,Mcd was embarressing to watch jumping around trying to be noticed.:--(

 

It was just hype. Like the rest of the build up to this fight. They'll be kissing & hugging at the end whatever the result.

One thing id like to see in big big fights is the split dependant on the outcome - would mosely have fought like he did if there was a chance he was gona get like 75%?

 

i think degale is just too good for groves now. I could see degale taking the money if he could because he genuinly is bitter about their amateur loss, and seems to want to hurt groves in every manner, but i'm sure this can't be allowed especially verbally. If they was serious about the bet, then contracts are always the way.

 

I think Degale was talking about the full gross purse, brings to mind a manager in the past telling his fighter " Hold on, my money is in there too, I don't want to bet mine " was that not Frank Warren ?

 

Groves didnt even know what the bet was and i'm not convinced Degale did either

Not a great amount of brain power between the pair of them

 

if groves loses, he wont. if degale loses he will look like a bit of a muppet if he doesnt pay up

 

they will have to do it on the sneak....

bbboc will not allow fighters betting on themselves in fights.
