    I doubt it.

As with most fighters, he'll miss the limelight, thrill of fighting, and paydays (other GBP fights don't make as much as DLH fights).

If DLH pulls off the upset in September against Mayweather, a Cotto fight may happen as DLH said, or a rubber match with Mayweather. It's pretty obvious the plans for a December matchup between either of the two will be delayed as it is way too big to have just 3 months later. Cinco De Mayo weekend 2009, so I said "within a year".

Unless DLH is completely outclassed and looks really shot and terrible, he'll fight beyond this "farewell tour".

Don't forget the Tito rematch. I think that makes a lot of sense for DLH because he would probably beat Tito whereas he would have no shot against Cotto. And you know that will be a huge fight. At least in terms of PPV numbers.

The more money you have the more you want.

    He'll continue I would say.

And why not; it's not as if he is shot.

I think the pressures of GBP will pull him away.

GBP has been doing pretty well with De La Hoya doing both the promotional thing and fighting thing so far.

No, I bet we'll see him come out of retirement in late 2009 or sometime in 2010. Those massive paydays are too much to resist. And the thing is, people will always pay to watch him fight.

If somehow, someway, he actually won against Mayweather, he would.

I hope so. He's a none-factor in whatever division he fights in. Good riddance...
