No he won't. He will face at least one and that's his ending.

There isn’t many elite heavyweights out there atm. You’ve got Joshua at the top of the pile, Parker, Fury (if he redeems himself) Povetkin, and Wilder himself.

I reckon he’ll get his money fight with Joshua, but then who knows

Your thread title says "elite fighters" now you are saying Joshua has fought "4 or 5 legit fighters."

So do you mean legit fighters like the 4 or 5 Joshua has faced, or do you mean elite fighters, in which case Joshua has fought a maximum of just 1 (40 years old with 2 years inactive)? Which do you mean?

Wilder refused to fight a legit fighter, he refused to fight Povetkin, even after VADA cleared him, he refused to fight an old 50 year old Ortiz, Ortiz was on high blood pressure medicine, he refused to fight Joshua, Parker, Takam, Whyte, Miller, Ruiz, anyone who can fight back. No, I doubt if Wilder will fight a legit opponent because he does not have to....................Povetkin would have knocked out all of Wilder's opponents easily, so would Joshua, Vlad, Parker, etc. Wilder will have Breazeale waiting to be called if the fight is canceled!

Luis Ortiz is the most Skilled Heavyweight puncher active today, He is heavy handed, more accurate than any active Heavyweight today, Undefeated, most ducked, if you don't consider him Elite, I assume you have very high standards & I can't wait to see your top 15 Active Elite Heavyweights today

List your Elite fighters, so we bookmark your unbiased words...

Tyson Fury is obviously Elite, but its not Wilder fault that he is inactive!

AJ has faced 2 elite fighters

Povetkin has faced 3 elite fighters perhaps more.

Parker has faced 2 elite fighters.

Tyson Fury has faced 1 elite fighter.

Wilder has faced 0 elite fighters.

If I was to bet on it then I would bet Wilder retires having faced 0 elite fighters.

Carlos Takam and Andy Ruiz Jr have fought at a higher level than Bum killer.

Ditto, I agree with the above reply. Ortiz is not an elite fighter, he is slow, can punch hard, has shown a good chin, but he is very old, bad stamina, almost 50, at least 48 years old, with high blood pressure, but I have him in my top ten. Ortiz is in no way the most skilled heavyweight in boxing today, no way..................if he were young, in his prime he would still not be #1 skilled...................Joshua, at this time, is the best heavyweight fighting today, Parker is also in the top ten, top 5, Povetkin in top 5, Ruiz is very underrated, only 6 feet 2 inches tall, but punches very hard, is very fast and his conditioning will soon be at top level. good chin also..................if Tyson Fury gets back into tip top shape, he will be at the top with Joshua, would beat Wilder no doubt! However, he will fight Briggs next. Tyson needs a couple fights to get back..................there are some very excellent heavyweights coming up right now from Eastern Europe! When they get here, look out!!! Wilder has never fought a legit fighter, much less elite! Miller, Whyte and Takam can fight well also. a 41 year old Vlad would still be #1 next to Joshua right now and even Vitali would be at the top! He is in the gym right now..................he never gets out of shape, but he is mayor of Kiev, the 8th largest city in Europe, doing a great job too!!!!!!!

Okay we get, full-fledged Peasant rebellion against the WBC Heavyweight king, now once the peasants calm down...

WBC King Deontay Wilder is curious, if Luis Ortiz is not an Elite boxer, then list your Elite boxers...

Governing Bodies (who despise Luis Ortiz) & Boxrec are all apparently wrong wrong listing ortiz on the Elite of Heavyweight boxing, we should listen to the voice of the peasants...cause we embrace democracy, so go ahead make you top 15 Elite Heavyweight boxers list...

Detonay Wilder is looking for that one massive pay day that only Joshua or
Tyson Fury can give him. He better be careful look what happened to Riddick
Bowe and Lennox Lewis dream fight or Tommy Morrison with Lewis.

Yet the peasants fail to produce a Top 15 Elite Heavyweight list, they only want to dismiss Undefeated boxer-puncher master Luis Ortiz...based on their emotions

Personally I think Joshua, Wilder, Povetkin, Parker and Ortiz are all the stand out fighters of the division at the moment. Though Fury is in there also if he can return in shape.

Joshua and Povetkin are the only ones to have fought a truly elite heavyweight in Wlad. Though it took Povetkin far longer to get that on his resume than Joshua, Povetkin put of the Wlad fight for quite some time, while Joshua took the shot as soon as it presented itself.

Parker has fought the next best opposition with wins over solid fighters in Takam, Fury and Ruiz Jr. Despite being the youngest of them all and turning pro a year before Joshua he's progressed very quickly to the top level.

Ortiz has fought one decent opponent in Jennings despite being a pro for almost 8 years. His progression has clearly been much slower than Joshua's and Parkers. He beat Thompson too but by then he was shot to hell.

Wilder's win over Stiverne looked good at the time but with hindsight it's pretty clear however good Stiverne was when he won the tile the only belt he cared about was the one he needed to hold up his pants while he concentrated on becoming a competitive buffet eater. Despite being a pro longer than anyone other than Povetkin he's failed to beat anyone as good as Takam, Jennings, Wlad etc.

Let's hope Joshua/Parker and Wilder/Ortiz gets finalised and then we get to see Povetkin in the mix somewhere down the line. We could have some good fights among these 5 guys. But time is of the essence, Ortiz and Povetkin maybe have a year or 2 at the best at top level before age sees them decline to the point of irrelevance.

it's 2018 boiz. let's stop the wistful thinking that bronze bambi will ever fight ortiz.

prediction of wilder's opponents this year:

    1. shannon briggs
    2. arreola 2
    3. stiverne 3: trilogy
