Will Dirrell's grabbing technique work against Abraham?

:thinkCorrect and thinking of it that way Dirrell does have a shot. Sorry but I'm still dissapointed that Dirrell was so tentative against Froch and didn't take him out in the 10th round when he could've.

To be fair, Froch was also fighting a sloppy fight.... So everything just was sloppy... Decent fight, but sloppy...

He was never hurt against Froch who would have gone down if not for the ropes holding hi, up. He got a gift too.

if dirrell does a bit more offensively than in the froch fight, with the same lateral movement, i think he will have a good shot. abraham isn't going to rough him up on the inside like froch. he is going to try to box and explode like he always does. i expect direll won't be there to get hit as much as some of abraham's other opponents. plus abraham tends to start a little slow. if dirrell can take a nice early lead his movement and defense will serve him well. to me i think either fighter can win this fight, but i am slightly leaning toward dirrell. i'm sure that's not the popular pick, but it's mine.

First I had the Dirrel Vs Froch fight exactly like the outcome score.
Secondly I thought Dirrel gave that fight away and could have KO'd Froch.
    Third, Froch did hurt Dirrel

Dirrel has to be within punching range to hit Abraham.
Second he has to get past Abraham's guard to connect. Both of which will put him into a situation where he will get caught by Abraham. Abraham fakes being slow. He makes you think he is slow and prodding. Then explodes with fast combo's. COmbine that with power in both hands.

Looks as if Dirrell faked an injury to get the fight in his home town, almost did. Dirrell did not want to fight in Calif.

Dirrell, fall down on canvas, hold, run and complain, he wants to cheat and he will need to.

Abraham needs to work on a short counter left as Dirrell moves in to grab. AA actually scored with the long left in the late rounds vs. Taylor, but here he'd have to time Dirrell with a quick, short left hook. I'm not sure he'll open up from the shell for that shot for most of the fight, but he should. Regarding Ward: I don't think Dirrell has that kind of inside game, nor do I think Abraham is so helpless on the inside as Kessler was. Inside game is a whole different territory, effectively tying up, coming in with a lead shot (and head), working on the inside and working out of clinches are skills learned and polished in years. If Dirrell had those inside tools, he'd have a KO victory over Curtis Stevens.
Seriously dude... how can you dislike Abraham? He's one of the coolest kid out there in any sport, he's down to earth, honest, funny, has a huge heart and takes any challenge. Is he too cool for your taste?

since he was robbed the first time for this reason, i think he's going to bring it to Abraham.

Froch never landed flush with power and some of Froch hard punches that only grazed Dirrell seem to put him under distress because he immediately began to run away in a wobbly fashion. He was a KO waiting to happen but was to slippery for Froch and Froch is to Stiff, slow and robotic with his punches to catch Dirrell flush.

That's on Gary Shaw. Shaw had a great show with Abraham-Dirrell as the main event and Darchinyian as the co-feature. Lots of armenian fans. Dirrell has no die hard fans in Detroit.

Maybe this time Dirrel will belive in his own power cause he had a tough chinned Froch hurt bad and Abraham has had his jaw broken before and is a natural 160. A real 168 pound punch not Taylor another natural 160 mat be able to stun him. The pop Dirrel showed at the end of his Froch fight combined with the speed of the delivery he may do some damage. I'm not saying a stoppage is in the cards fro Dirrel I dont even think he is gonna win on cards but he will cause trouble and if he puts anyting on his punches he will matk up Abraham.

What? Abraham looked positively unwell the last few times he made 160!

After what one punch of Abraham did to Taylor, you claim that this isn't a "real" 168lb punch ????

If he tries to clinch as carelessly and recklessly as he did against Froch I think Abraham will have a short straight punch or an uppercut for him.
