Well I don't agree that rankings don't mean a thing. Sanctioning body's rankings don't mean a thing but between them Ring and TRB pretty much have it covered. Cloud isn't in my top 10 now, but I could see an argument for him sneaking in at #10 or #9 back then. To take him out like that was impressive, no denying it. Campillo less so, because it had been done before. But two impressive wins nonetheless, when taking into account the matter of victory. Last guy we saw going through that level of opposition by early knockout was Kovalev and he didn't turn out so bad.
I agree with everything you just said, its also the am to pro game which can turn great prospects into nearly men. Arthur lacks professional experience. Sticking him in now with Kovalev plays to Kovalev's advantages. Loma found out how hard the transition was too early. No rush with Artur, Kovalev's not moving up any time soon. 2-3 years from now that fight will be, huge...
Kovalev should concentrate on unifying. Athur should get more experience. Right now. It makes no sense.
Kovalev fears no one... But this fight makes no sense at this point. Beterbiev is still on the way up, and Kovalev wants to unify with Stevenson next.
Kovalev will fight him....let him take stevenson first beterbiev only as a handful of fights....let him develop into a bigger fighter
Artur struggles at the weight. I know the jump from 175lbs to Cruiserweight is big but it wouldnt surprise me to see Artur moving up.
Hell; I'd like to see Beterbiev-Bika as well. See how he deals with a guy who can take his shots and keep on coming.
