Both of these guys have fights coming up. not necessarily against each other. We have been promised an announcement almost every other day now for the last month and a half. When will we ever hear it.

I have a ve-e-ery slight hope that Eddie might be negotiating (with DAZN) increased purses for the fighters. I'm sure it's the only thing that prevents Usyk vs. Povetkin fight from happening. Usyk is ready even now, and Povetkin would most probably agree as well, if compensated properly.

Whyte is what is holding this all up. Eddie is obviously not keen with attempting to get a deal with Ortiz as it would be difficult. The problem is that if Whyte doesn't fight Povetkin or Usyk or Ortiz then he will be criticised massively by the media and the fans. They will try to find a way out by fighting Charr or something, but he will be seen as ducking if he does that. He has to go for Povetkin otherwise he'll end up fighting some bum which nobody wants him to fight.

I think it will happen, both will take an easier interim fight and then later this year they'll fight one another.

Povetkin is near the end of his career, I think he sees this as his farewell fight win or lose. He only agreed a 2 fight deal with Matchroom which suggests he'll fight these 2 fights and call it a day.

Usyk is going to fight two old men and get AJ. Mark it down.

Every HW contender WOULD LIKE TO, but every HW contender doesn't have the connections to jet through the ranks.

Also, there are rumors that Povetkin wants this fight as well even now, but his team is quite strongly against it.

Holyfield took 6 heayvweight fights in 2 years before he got his shot against Buster Douglas. Three of them, Tillis, Pinklon Thomas, Michael Dokes, were ex heavyweight champs. Tillis was 31, Thomas was 30 and Dokes was 31.

    I'm just saying.

different times. guys back then fought far more often. i'd imagine the current guys would like to get a hold of Usyk before he gets accustomed to the weight or happens to lose.
