What are the parameters and the context? As I said, styles matter.
In a head to head comparison Ruiz has better hand speed, combinations, chin, and shown power against better opponents. I’d say Ruiz is a better counter puncher as well, while utilising an aggressive style. Ortiz is a decent counter puncher. Parker is better than anyone on Ortiz’ record, that was arguably a win for Ruiz and he hurt Parker while showing an insane chin himself. Then factor in the age 29 vs 40 (allegedly). Thinking about it I take back what I said before, I don’t think Ruiz would have any trouble with Ortiz.
When you say don’t mention Wilder and Joshua you’re not setting the same base for Ruiz and Ortiz, one had a career best performance and the other got stopped. That has relevance to their abilities and the direct comparison. Wilder and Joshua were the main heavyweight attraction for a reason, they were considered even. Keep in mind that Wilder was considered unproven until the Ortiz fight, that wasn’t smooth sailing and then we saw what happened against Fury.
Ortiz turned down a career high pay day against Joshua and Ruiz stepped in. Who has the best win as a pro? Ruiz by far, unless you consider a guy who beat Whyte, Wlad, Parker, Povetkin as being on the same level as Bryant Jennings.
So I say Ruiz is better than Ortiz based on boxing ability, resume and age. If you think Ruiz didn’t beat the real Joshua then you’re implicitly making the claim that what we saw of Joshua has no relevance on any future match up involving Joshua. So if he beat the real Joshua he has the best win out of anyone in the division, and has the strong evidence that he is better than Ortiz.

This is why I’m holding back with usyk I always say if he adapts he will beat the lot of them . But there no guarantee.

I'd do the rematch it in Mexico City. Probably fill a soccer stadium up there. Plus if you go to Mexico and knock Ruiz out and would be great redemption. Going to the UK would be a step backwards to me. It's like admitting he can only win in the UK.

lets see what the Fury Shwartz PPv does ? lol

lets see what the Ortiz vs wilder one does ? lol

I could fight AJ and do more ppv's on AJ's name ,get real.

Also one doesn't need to have titles to be the best draw ,you would know that if you knew your boxing history just ask around who was the biggest attraction even when he was losing fights . smh

Lol AJ only had 5000 subscribers for DAZN for his fight. He is one overpaid fighter. Ruiz should just land one more punch on his face to prove how idiotic and gullible people have been all this time

The rematch is best for matchroom and Hearn

But it is a terrible idea for AJ.

If AJ is thinking of what is best for him he will turn down the rematch. Hearn is only concerned about himself.

Look at Wlad. He didn’t fight the Brewster rematch straight away did he?

Without a doubt, AJ seemed mentally fail going into this fight, that coupled with the fact that Ruiz is a stylistic nightmare and has his number, he's going to go into the rematch with even less confidence, and Andy will have his way him him and beat him like a red headed stepchild once again.

Also, what can AJ possibly do in the rematch? It was getting aggressive that resulted in him getting dropped in the first place, then being passive and staying on the backfoot that resulted in Andy walking him down and manhandling him. There's zero good options here.

it's still Andy f**king Ruiz, he's not fighting a prime Mike Tyson.

Nah, he needs to get back in there and avenge his loss as soon as possible. He can't let this eat at him for six months or a year, and risk the possibility that Ruiz loses the titles. He needs a rubber match two or three months from now. Go straight back into camp, work on a few things and then bang prove that the last fight was a fluke. It depends how good his trainer is.

He could do a couple of things: keep his distance, use his reach, use his jab, circle, and clinch. Jab and grab is probably the easiest way. I expect him to do in the rematch what Klitschko did to Povetkin.

Fury's fight will be on ESPN+ I believe which isn't PPV. It's subscription based app. 5 bucks a month. I fully except Fury to win but I think he really needs a KO to piggy back off the Wilder KO.

Ortiz and Wilder will probably be PPV. It's PPV worthy fight, the first one was great. Just don't see much over 350,000 maybe. Just doesn't seem like general America has taken to his fights as events yet. That Brezeale KO went mainstream though. I don't get it, man is the only dude in boxing guaranteed to get your money worth. He is getting a KO or going get KOed

After he was dropped he seemed badly buzzed or gassed or something. Compromised at any rate. He wasn't able to see or dodge the punches Ruiz was throwing and seemed to abandon his jab. A fresh Joshua should be able to keep Ruiz at bay, so that's the gameplay I guess they'll be going with.
