Most fights slightly above domestic level are PPV nowadays in the UK, certainly when HW's are involved. A real top class P4Per like Loma coming to the UK? Definitely PPV!
Campbell isn't a name though and hardly Mr Charisma and Lomachenko isn't really known outside boxing circles, if this is PPV it will be full of Price, Allen, Chisora etc types
To get Loma over here you need to make it PPV. I will be paying for it as I think it is a great fight.
The problem with this is that quality and skill doesn't necessarily equate to popularity. And PPV is all about popularity. Thinking about it I reckon the only way they could do it on PPV is do a Brook Gavin type card. A mismatch main event (albeit higher quality than that) with a popular undercard. There was more about Joshua and Mitchell in the build up to that than the main event.
Great post mate, I totally agree. Campbell was nip and tuck with Linares over 12 rounds in America, you dont do that unless you are quality. Does than mean he will beat Lomo, No, but who will in fairness
When is this fight supposed to take place? September? Whoops, just seen the tweet saying August 31st. Cheeseman v Fitzgerald for the British is scheduled for sometime in September and would be worthy as being one of the main supporting fights.
Smith-Garcia is a good fight, good clash of styles. Buatsi-Burton would be acceptable. Any lesser opponent would be a pisstake now because Buatsi is clearly ready to be stepped up.
Thats because originally Brook wasn't on the card but was added as the main event when the Fury Klitschko fight got postponed if i remeber correctly?
Probably wishful thinking on my part with the close connections between Usyk and Lomachenko, although end of August might be a bit too soon for the winner of Price-Allen to be put in with Povetkin?
