I was just making the point that he doesn't have a track record of killing fights during negotiations outside of the Pacquiao deal. If he's interested in this fight, I see no reason why it shouldn't happen. 80/20 is a ****ing joke offer from Dibella, though. I don't think he's honestly expecting anywhere close to that. The "big money" fights for Floyd are like $40+ million at this point, but he still has the option of fighting no hopers and making more money per fight than anybody in the sport. Also, someone else is sure to pop up at some point who the fans will want to see him fight. Quite a few of those you listed are probably about one big win or so away. Where was Victor Ortiz before he beat Berto?
^ Also, make no mistake, every single one of these mother****ers are fighting primarily for money. This "fighting for legacy" nonsense is just that. Take away the money and there is no professional boxing.
That's cool mate. I don't think Debella is really expecting 80-20 anyway and would settle for the 5-8 million range but all negotiators start high. And yeah I know everyones there for the money but realistically he could get a huge legacy fight and a top payday in Martinez so why not kill 2 birds with one stone.
This. Exactly. It is what it is...you wanna talk about the business side of boxing then you should understand it. Otherwise, just stick to predicting who's gonna win or other fighting-related issues.
