Floyd is already breaking the highest guarantee'd purse with Cotto at $32,000,000. Will he bring in $21,000,000 or more with revenue? He brought in $15,000,000 with Ortiz, in revenue. I think Floyd breaks the purse record in this fight. Vote and post if you please.:good
Man , I just want a good fight. I am a big sports fan and its only boxing where we seem to discuss money all the time. It doesnt matter it isnt my money. peace.
Keep it coming though....he did $15,000,000 with Ortiz, who had never headlined a PPV....He can't do $21,000,000 with Cotto who has headlined plenty of PPV's...
but i dont see this fight doing any kind of record #. . . Schaefer has said the same lines about all of FLoyd's last PPV's. . Mosley was supposed to break records, and the hype/promotion for that fight felt A LOT more epic than this one. . . But you never know, maybe Cotto brought in that additional 500k or so that normally don't buy PPV's to put it at, or above the 2 million mark. . . If it did sell well, thenn it's better for boxing. . More money in boxing, more young athletes see potential to make money = more boxers, and beter boxers. . Not to mention more money that is invested from outside sources, and more chances for additional TV networks to want to get in on the action. . . We've already seen what the addition of Showtime to the boxing market has done. . Can you imagine ANOTHER network jumping on board to start showing world class boxing matches on a regular basis? My early prediction is 1.55 million buys.
