His time is ticking, beside the handful of his supporters. He only have a few more same sized/slightly bigger elite fighters to beat to get respect. Which is Shane, Cotto. The top dogs, the dominators. So far he is heading down the right path dethroning champions after champions and had fought 19 championship bouts in 38 fights but still he can't get the nod. how come?

Floyd gets plenty of respect. Any knowledgeable boxing fan, who isn't blinded by their man love of Pac, admits that he is an excellent fighter and the number 1 p4p fighter. No one denies his stature and talent. That's what I call respect. Other things such as resume, fighting style, and personality will always be called into question. When you're on top people will always expect more out of you. I think Floyd realizes this, and that's one of things that keeps him motivated.

If Mayweather did more fighting and less talking he would get more respect IMO.

He gets a lot of respect for the most part. Too little by those who say he is nothing special and too much by those who say he's right up there next to Robinson, Armstrong, Ali, and Greb.

I consider him an ATG and his ranking will only increase in my book with future big wins. If he beats Hatton, Mosley, Cotto, and Williams which means he would retire 42-0 with at least 8 titles in 5 weight classes, I would rank him right up there with Leonard, Whitaker, and Duran.

I don't like him at all, but I respect his greatness and his talents.

Probably not. No respect at all.

I fell asleep on a park bench, and when I woke up a blind man was reading my face.

He's got all the tools but rarely uses them. His mouth just makes people hate him. When he's gone he will easily be forgotten.

I think he's #1 pfp right now. I respect him as a boxer but not as a person. Since he chooses to be a *****, he should never have the nerve to be surprised that people don't respect him.

He will as long as the un-retired ( from May 2007 till June 2007- just the day after Hatton kayoed JLC) stops joking with the WBC Commission and with us, the fans... Floyd didn't want to fight Shane cause he got "hurt", yo know, he showed luv to his bro ( after the Vargas fight - check on you tube) and then Shane refused to fight him TWICE (!!!), Lil Floyd went to applaud Oscar against Mayorga in front row, got his Big Fight, brought Daddy back to his camp to **** off Freddie Roach in a single presser and fired his azz again. Still, Shane sparred with Hoya against him, WHAT A NERVE! Now, Floyd, that is a grown up, wants nothing with Shane anyyymoooreee, hell yeah! Works again with Golden Boy Promotions ( which he says to have treated him like **** in the Hoya -Mayweather Promo Tour) to fight the Brit undersized Hatton( recently "promoted" by Jose Sulaiman to the WBC nº1 Contendership position while Shane got stripped of the WBC interim ww title), MoneyMayweather Laughin Straight to the Bank ( Ah ah ah ah)...
How can someone respect such an individual? Virtually impossible...
