Will Floyd, Jr. Use Roger Mayweather as His Latest Excuse to Duck Pacquiao?

Sadly, signs could be pointing towards "yes:"

    In other words,

-- the same way he took the bogus "clean up the sport of boxing" way out the first time around --

    .

Roger Mayweather is Floyd Mayweather's trainer. Only Floyd knows how much he would miss Uncle Roger in training camp. But not having his own trainer available didn't stop Joshua Clottey from taking his crack at the Pac Man.

    Two things:

    1. Part of the problem of coming from, and contributing to, a family with numerous legal issues in its background is that you never know when the next court date or sentencing is coming up.

    2. Floyd is in serious danger of becoming the welterweight version of David Haye, if he is not already. Haye could not shut up about the Klitschkos, yet now the entire world has seen Haye essentially run at full speed from bouts with the two brothers.

Mayweather already has a long-established reputation of ducking opponents, mostly notably Antonio Margarito.

Should Mayweather again find reason to dodge Pacquiao -- however legitimate such a decision could be -- he is likely to suffer the same severe blow to his already-strained credibility which David Haye is dealing with now following his unwillingness to take on either Klitschko. In that instance, many of Haye's strongest supporters have turned their back on the Brit for what they feel is his blatant cowardice and double-talk.

We may soon find out if Mayweather, Jr. is willing to take that Haye-like risk with his own backers.

Would Pacquiao fight Mayweather without Roach training him?

I cant even believe you stated the part in bold. Comparing pbf and clottey is like comparing steak and tobacco. Its a WTF that doesnt even go together.

Clottey a guy who finally has a chance to make a million dollars in a match. One who knows he doesnt have a real chance to beat pac. I will fight pac for that money, with NO trainer at all.

Floyd is a superstar. clot wants to be a star. im not gonna even prolong my reply cause this is stupid. Floyd has more to lose and you know it. If floyd or pac lost their trainer, i would not be mad if they didnt want to fight (although i would be mad that there wasnt a fight), because both of those guys deserve the right to not want to fight without the person that got them there.

Beside i wouldnt want them to fight because if floyd loses people will say well he wasnt at his best because roger wasnt there, and vice versa. When they fight, i want it to be clear cut.

    Yawn.

Why do people base arguments on things that Bob arum says.

    Its Bob Arum FFS!

Also this is clearly written by a pac fan. I wish people would keep it unbiased!

Hell no, but a lot of people like to claim that Floyd trains himself and Roger isn't a vital part of the Mayweather camp.

Good point! But Floyd is the fighter who has said he basically trains himself. Roger has stated the same. Floyd just needs some one to hold the mitts for him and he'll do his own training. Plus Sr is availble.
