Totally agree, will be surprised if he beats Marquez let alone his next or third fight who are guaranteed to be Pacquiao and Mosley.

Thats my only worry also, hence Floyd picking him, either way the result is a forgone conclusion up at HBO-HQ:yep:smoke

Keep yer eye out 4 the judges getting their final instructions as the fighters get their's:-( but true:yep

So difficult to call. He'll be more physically rested, but it is impossible to tell. He's also gotten older and not been under the lights in so long. It will help in some ways, hurt in some ways. Which will prevail will only be known on fight night.

The layoff MUST be a factor I think but I hope its as minimal as possible, I just want a big fight going down with as little excuses as possible for once.

He's going to be 100%...he has no choice and doesn't know any other way...

Not only is he talented but he's really smart...especially in that ring.

He retired but whose to say he stopped running everyday or never stepped foot in the gym to keep sharp...i honestly think that he's the one being underestimated, but we'll see i expect to see him at his best or even better...

    No significant damage taken...
    Only 32....
If he's broke then that just means he's hungry...
    Still undefeated as a professional...

Floyd isn't new to longer than usual periods in between fights anyways. The guy is a gym rat. He will be sharp. As I said before... it could only have helped to heal whatever injuries were hampering him before. Many times a rest like this is just what a fighter needs. It's only been a year and a half. Everyone knew from day one that he was just going to take a long break and come back anyways. He normally waited 6-7 even 8 months in between fights. Basically... he skipped a fight or two. It isn't as if Floyd was in wars... his sparring is probably more intense than his last couple fights.

The problem with long layoffs is that for MOST people... they let themselves go during the layoff. They gain a bunch of weight... they struggle to get back down... they spend more time making weight than training for the fight.... so they suffer for it in the ring. Floyd stays active... in shape.... and at his target weight. These factors won't effect him. He will be in great shape, and be able to have great sparing to sharpen his skills.
