Mayweather will throw some punches, some will land on the chin some will land on the body. Ortiz and Mayweather will have a boxing match, both trying to punch the other one. there will be 12 rounds and mayweather will be the winner

He said on the face off not to worry about him boxing and moving because he is NOT going to do that. When asked why not he said because he doesnt have to.

I believe him. This older Floyd Mayweather is no longer afraid to stand with anybody or walk anybody down. He did it with Hatton and Mosley he will do it with Ortiz.

Still dont understand why people still doubt his ability to have a real fight. And remember its always the big hitters or the ones who can do real damage to him...the more dangerous or ferocious opponants who he seems to beat up the worst

You will be gone for days when Floyd gives you his usual performance. The Floyd against Baldo performance where Harold Lederman said "A very very unpleasing performance" :hi::hi::hi:

And we know how the boxing community let out a collective yawn during and after Pac/Clottey and Pac/Mosley. I heard that the Margarito fight was better, but probably only because Margacheato's defense involves blocking punches with his face.

    x2 :deal

Don't be blind guys. Floyd is too weak to stand toe to toe against young powerful fighter like Vicious Ortiz. Otherwise he would get KTFO. It's safe for him to pot shot and win another boring fight.

Hasn't the 'stood his ground', or went 'toe to toe' with SHane been blown out of proportion? Yeah, Floyd didn't potshot or stink the joint, but it waqs hardly toe to toe action. Shane barely threw any punches. Anyway, don't expect anything different from Floyd. Sure he'll have some moments where he might exchange a bit. But expect more of he same from Floyd. Cruise to an easy, possbily boring, win.

He'll pot shot him untill he feels his strength is drained and weaked and then he'll sit down on his shots more and dig some hooks to body and head to try and get the stoppage,

Thats the most likely pattern of this fight in my mind.

Toe to toe doesn't mean he will trade punches. I think he will try to back Ortiz up a bit and smother his work. I don't think Ortiz is very effective fighting off his back foot. And it is kind of an illusion when Mayweather does stand toe to toe as he does not involve himself in trading punches like other fighters do. He is very good defensively on the inside as well. He is still looking to make you miss and counter even when he is standing right in front.

As usual, it will be a combination of different boxing techniques from Mayweather. I do believe he will end up walking Ortiz down however.

Pac/Clottey Pac/Mosley were way better than the Floyd/Baldo fight and it's not even close. :hi::hi::hi:

    Cautious at the beginning

    Toe-to-toe towards the end

In a weird situation where Ortiz is even on the cards and unfazed, he'll potshot and put an absolute stinker to win.

He'll box him, at least until he has softened up Ortiz sufficiently enough for a more calculated offensive approach, the 2nd round of the Mosley fight may well be a sticking point in his mind, he isnt going to make the same mistake twice.

Sorry, but the Clottey fight was absolutely horrible to watch. Way better? Hardly, both the fights you mentioned were a bit of a snooze fest.
