Will Floyd retire undefeated?

That depends on when he retires, if he keeps going for a couple of years i think he eventualy will be defeated.

 

Doubt it, as big a fan of Mayweather as I am, you cant quench a fighters hunger. I think one of these young cats is gonna get him in the next 5 years.

Remember he's 33. Ancient in boxing.

 

ancient for a brawler, floyd has hardly had to break sweat in most of his fights, he's never been in a war, he could fight on for ten more years at the top level

 

I'm thinking he wins the following: Mosely, then Pacquaio, then Pacqauio rematch then retire. that should net him a quick $70M and SHOULD be enough to retire, but he'll probably come back for one more fight against 'the next big thing' and he'll get got.

Hopefully he does, otherwise I am not sure if someone who bases his career on never being beaten will do with a lose on their record.

Why not? he did it before... If he manages to outpoint Shane maybe he can become the first boxer to retire undefeated twice.
But not if he tries to beat Pac or PW I think.

I think it depends on where he goes weight wise and how it affects his speed and if he gets out at the right time instead of plodding on like RJJ.

 

Unless Floyd keeps boxing til he is about 40, the zero will not strengthen his claim as the greatest of all-time, because Joe Calzaghe, Rocky Marciano and Ricardo Lopez will still have zeroes set against bigger numbers.

Zeroes mean nothing. Ray Leonard doesn't have a zero, but he is greater than Joe Calzaghe. Muhammad Ali doesn't have a zero, but he is greater than Rocky Marciano. Willie Pep doesn't have a zero, but he is greater than Ricardo Lopez. Roberto Duran doesn't have a zero, but he is greater than Floyd Mayweather.

It's about who you fought and who you beat and what you did and how you did it.
