Well obviously, if someone is taking a horrific beating then that's what the corner do. What was the point of this question, it's irrelevant to even have the fighters names in the title. Your question is basically 'if a fighter is taking a bad enough beating for a corner to throw the towel in, would they throw it in?' It's self explanatory...

 

I think what he's trying to say is, if Pac is able to rock Floyd (not literally be beating him to a pulp), will Floyd Sr panic and stop it prematurely?

 

I'm sure he would. Than again, chances of that happening are probably slim to none.

Then they weren't taking a bad enough beating for their corner to throw the towel in. If mayweather takes a bad enough beating for sr to throw the towel in then yes they will throw the towel in, whether anyone else thinks it's a bad enough beating is another matter.

 

That's what I figured he probably meant by that. And to that I stand by, "Nope. That's dumb". Reason is, I think Floyd Sr. is too scared of the backlash a premature stoppage would bring upon him from FMJ. I think a lot of people are. The ref is not going to take any chances I don't think either. I think FMJ is going to have to be seriously bloodied and near unconscious for anyone to step in.

I don't think Murray was taking a bad enough beating, I just think they would have been wise to stop the fight because he had no chance of winning. He was way behind on cards and didn't have the puncher's chance. There was no reason for him to continue to fight except to give the fans a show. Now, the ref did a good job stopping that fight because once Murray's hands dropped after getting clipped by GGG, he was about to get blasted flush to the face when the ref jumped in. Good job ref! Agreed that Margarita and should have been stopped by corner. Algieri should have been knocked out. The ref stopped Pac at one point and gave Chris a standing 8 right at the point in which he should have either stopped the fight altogether or let Pac keep going and close the deal. My preference would have been the latter.
