Will Floyd's May 4th PPV sales under perform?

Canelo on the card assures it will go above 1 mil ppv!

I seriously believe Canelo-Trout will be responsible for more buys than Mayweather-Guerrero.

That's because you're seriously ******ed. If they had two separate PPV with both fights headlining Mayweathers PPV would blow Canelos out of the water. Its pretty obvious. Leave that rock alone.

 

I did exaggerate for effect. But I am convinced Mayweather-Guerrero would be a complete flop on the PPV market without Canelo on the card.

Canelo will be responsible for alot of PPV buys.
I definitely will buy with both on the card, but would not buy if each had their own seperate PPV's.
I imagine there are alot of fans in the same boat I'm in.

I think you are way off on this one. Showtime has been trying to "Out-do" HBO for quite sometime. By having more fights (on both Fridays and Saturdays) deeper cards, including broadcasting undercards on Showtime Extreme. Showtime is fully aware of what they have just done in signing a fighter like Mayweather. Since the deal was made and the Guererro fight was signed, I have seen tons of Promos already (I watch a lot of Showtime). And this isn't Mayweather's first Rodeo....Say what you want about Floyd, but he has a smart team around him. This deal alone should tell you that. And Showtime would want to do everything to make sure they make money too.

Trust and believe Showtime will promote the hell out of this and the rest of "Money's" fights. I also expect to see ton of ShoBox fights featuring Mayweather Promotions Fighters (I would imagine Mayweather worked a deal to get some of his fighters some premium cable exposure).

 

People blow canelos popularity out of proportion.

I agree. Floyd on national television will be a ****ing hit. His 24/7's or All Access (whatever the show will be) will be a ****ing hit.

The fight does great numbers ESPECIALLY *if* Trout/Canelo fight

 

you never know. i think alot of people bought Floyd and Manny PPV's because they had hopes that it would lead to them fighting. now, alot of people don't have interest in it.

also, HBO 24/7 helped hype fights alot, not sure if All Access will be watched as much.
