Will Frampton be a man and face Rigo now?

Not gona happen. No need, there are more exciting fights ahead with bigger paydays. He doesn't need Rigo.

Why do people say that fighting Rigo doesn't make financial sense?

Name me one fight that Frampton or anyone else around that weight that would make them more cash than if they fought Rigo in their home city?

18 months ago fair enough, when Rigo was fighting in USA and not putting bums on seats, but like it or lump it Rigo has built a profile over here now and guaranteed would be a big pay day for any British fighter that took him on.

Not making any money for fighting Rigo now is a complete lie.

Great fight on Sat live on German TV.

Panty Cruz was well beat on the night and no idea what the judge scoring it a draw was watching.

He got Donaire his highest pay day to date too.

I don't think he's moving up though and Frampton won't move down so I think this fight is as good as dead for now, which sucks.

They say it doesn't make financial sense because it doesn't plain and simple. no tv behind him US cut ties with him

Selby Warrington LSC and even Quigg would make more money than Rigo. How on earth has he built a profile by fighting on a undercard on Box Nation. He as already gone awol once. Let him move up win a title at Featherweight then his profile will rise. A few people come on here and said oh Rigo is fighting in the US great i'll go A few remember that.

    Absolute nonsense.

He's built a profile as his name has been mentioned in every post fight interview for Frampton & Quigg in the last 2 years, even the casuals know who he is. I play football with guys who are the definition of casuals and even they reference everyone ducking Rigo.

Would they buy tickets to a Rigo fight though? Prob not if they know who he is and almost definitely not if they have ever watched him fight before.

That said I'd watch a Rigo fight and would like to see it. Boxing is too much of a business and not enough of a sport but it's been like that from the outset.

Frampton looked great at the new weight, so maybe there is a deal of truth in him struggling to make 122. As such I have no gripes with him moving up in weight and fighting in the US against a 3 weight world champ who was supposed to be all wrong for him. That's a *****y move. So I'll let him off the hook for not fighting Rigo at 122.

Remember Frampton is 29, he's not a young man for the lower divisions, as he got older 122 was always going to be much more difficult to make. If Rigo were willing to move to 126 and cede location, purse etc to Frampton, then I'd view things differently.

    That remains to be seen.

If they've ever watched him fight before? He broke his opponents jaw in his last fight... Face it, Frampton v Rigo sells just as well, if not better, than any other option out there for him.

The list of excuses from the Frampton apologists is mind blowing.

Why they don't want to see him fight the best is beyond me.

It says a lot about a fighter when they deliver a performance in which your description is accurate yet the fight was still considered boring.

I like Rigo but he is incredibly negative. I'd also like to see him fight Frampton as I'd like to see who would win. I don't however think it would make for an engaging fight. Do you?

You're also right in that it would sell just as well as other fights. I don't think it would do better numbers than any other saleable fight though. Rigo for all his talent, due to style and politics isn't a draw. It is what it is.

I hope it gets made and think in many ways it should get made but won't be surprised if it doesn't. It's a more of a shame Rigo didn't want to fight Loma IMO.

It's not that people don't wanna see Frampton fight Rigo, (I'd like to see it), their just pointing out that Frampton doesn't need him because he can make much more money elsewhere in fights he a has realistic to win, like it or not that's the way it is.

Frampton could fight Sid razak in Belfast and it would sell out the fight would make plenty of money it's just an excuse. However it's not like he's ducking rigo and fighting idiots if he fights selby Russell etc then really there's no issue he just can't claim to be the best. As long as they don't wait 3 years and then beat him and have to put up with Barry spouting on his TBE then I can live with it

He's already claimed he's created a legacy. What legacy? Won a world title and then vacated when mandated to fight his biggest challenge?
