I highly doubt he will fancy a fight with James Degale if he beats Groves and would much prefer a fight with Ward or Chavez in America or a third fight with Kessler.

I think Degale would beat him quite easily.

Hes by far a better box and has a great chin, hes only been on the deck once in his whole career and that was when he was about 12.

It would be a snore fest i know, but id go for Degale in a UD

I don't think so, It would be a tough fight if Degale is at 100% but if it's the Degale who lays on the ropes it could be a Bute style beat down.

Just imagine how much of an insufferable **** he'd be if froch vacated instead of fighting him

How's it pointless if it's a real possibility?

    + 1 here MSk,

Where's the clamour for a slick, non-puncher with no strap to fight a multi-champ granite head??? No-one outside of the UK gives a hoot for DeGale I'm afriad (though I like watching his fights) and no way is James getting a mandatory any time soon.

Beat down for an over-eager Groves again, out box/savvy Chavez (though that could be fireworks) and retire with a reasonable claim as the most successful Brit of the last...um....umpteen years. I doubt a 'missed' fight with DeGale would give Carl many sleepless nights....

Groves got himself into the mandatory position, luck had nothing to do with it. If a fighter gets into a mandatory position they deserve their shot, Froch wasn't out to do Groves any favours he hates him.

Degale doesn't match up well with Froch..

Groves can box but also has the power to hold the centre of the ring and push Froch back when need be - Degale doesn't.

Degale would have success in the first 4 rounds with movement, but far to often he likes to find himself on the ropes and doing that against Froch equals game over.

Its a possibility if Chavez Jr loses his next fight which is highly likely, you saying i make pointless threads is very ironic dont you think?

Degale won't be on Froch's radar IF he gets past Groves, he'll be off to Vegas.

:cool:It all depends on how Froch beats Groves at Wembley, and that depends on how much, the last fight with Groves has taken out of the Cobra. If he stops Groves,on a big stage like Wembley, next stop Vegas and he will be able to pick who ever he wants to fight, so yes I think he will vacate,if he doesn't get the backing for the fight HE wants.:good

 You make it sound so easy. A 37 year old Froch doesn't beat either of those (Groves and Chavez). Even a DeGale fight would be very competitive.
