Agree. Usyk intends to honour the rematch clause and will get stripped of the IBF title because of it. Fury will say he wants the rematch, talk a lot of ****, and go on a mega coke party and never rematch Usyk. Usyk is gonna be flapping like an old bra on the clothesline in a stiff breeze again.

I predict something similar. Fury has delayed Usyk's career quite a bit already. Which is disappointing.

He'll either be unable to process the loss and go on an almighty bender of benders from which he'll never recover (career-wise I mean) or he'll finally get serious like we've never seen him before and maybe try to wring one more night of greatness out of his body. The second option relies on him ditching his father and all the other leeches in his team though, and I don't see that happening.

I don't think Fury will be able to move on from this defeat without trying to avenge it.

The fact that Fury retired and put on so much weight and then returned to fight at the highest level should warrant massive respect.

You can criticise Fury for retiring but it is very clear that he had some mental issues at the time.

He lost to a great fighter but he has a good shot of avenging that loss in a rematch.

He'd be a fool to come in heavier. He needs to be disciplined and keep the weight off, as much as I know he'd love a nice fried Boar sammich, he's got to think revenge and that's like serving "Cold cuts"!

The fact that he retired in his prime does not deserve respect.

The fact he retired without giving Wlad the rematch does not deserve respect.

The fact he went on a massive coke binge and ballooned in weight does not deserve respect.

    But.

The fact he was able to get the weight off to return to the ring professionally at all - that deserves respect.

The fact he was able to fight a champion, albeit a laughable excuse for one, and hold his own without being fully fit and being ring rusty - that deserves respect too.

As usual with Fury - it's complicated.

    It is.

It's also clear he'd taken PEDs and been caught... And that he really, really didn't want to fight a prepared and motivated Wlad.

He lost convincingly to a great fighter (the stats are interesting - Fury threw more in the first 7-8 rounds, but only outlanded Usyk in 2 or 3 out of the whole 12).

I don't think he'll get a better chance - IMHO he's learned less than Usyk from the first fight, and he'd struggle to impose himself in a way that'd make any real difference...
He lacks both the chin and power to try and bulldoze Usyk, he can't clinch and lean because Usyk's shown he can counter it extremely well - he'd have to fight the same way, and it wouldn't finish any differently.

He is reported to pocket 100 million plus for this fight. I doubt there will be a rematch this fall. Summer is about to hit. He is going to struggle with the lifestyle. 100 million is a lot of drugs, alcohol , and whores.

Although he doesn't admit it Fury cares highly about legacy hence him pretty much fighting no one outside Wilder 3 times, he didn't want to lose that 0 and he wanted to be regarded as a ATG.
