Wilder's team obviously thought it was the right time to fight fury but fury proved the world wrong.

I reckon they will now try to cash wilder out ASAP vs joshua instead of getting that smoke from a fitter and sharper fury for less money.

Not at all, it was a very competitive fight, and a fight that absolutely warrants a rematch.

They took a risk. Remember Bellew admitted he would fight an unfit Fury but not the version who fought Wlad, Wilder has just done the same. He nearly pulled it off when he caught him in the 12th but still ultimately failed and he lost the fight. He will fight AJ now, I’m sure certain of it...

Cherry Pick? Clearly you have no idea what the term means.

A lineal, undefeated, 30 year old World Heavyweight Champion isn't a CHERRY PICK.

And you don't put CHERRY PICKS in $75 PPVs. EVER!!!!!

    Stop being an idiot. Honestly.

    Jesus Christ.

I wouldn’t call it a cherrypick, since Wilder’s team obviously knew Fury’s ring IQ and skill set would make him Wilder’s toughest challenge.

I think what surprised them was Fury’s workrate, which never slowed down the whole fight. All of Wilder’s opponents eventually slow down in the later rounds, which makes them easy pickings for Wilder’s right hand. Fury was hard to hit the whole fight and was tattooing Wilder with hard jabs and counter rights every time Wilder missed. They were clearly expecting Fury to have more respect to Wilder’s power and to mostly fight a defensive fight. The also completely underestimated Fury’s ring efficiency, which allowed Fury to have plenty of energy in the later rounds.

cherry-pick as in they only selected the fight because of fury's circumstances. learn the definition of the word moron.

hardly anyone thought fury could perform like this after the pianeta fight.

Wilder took a risk in that Fury would come in on form

and Fury took a risk that he'd not be in form on time

Wilder knows on form Fury is his nightmare and he realized his nightmare yesterday. If the rematch fails to happen we know Wilder and his team bailed.

Wilder can claim he fight anyone...but no Fury is the one who fights anyone. The true champion.
