Dillian Whyte is not very popular on these shores in the first place, but with him stinking the place out not attending press conferences or playing any part in the promotion of this fight, can you envisage a point prior to this fight where Whytes popularity plummets that badly that he ends up in a fight in his own city where 90% of the crowd are fiercely rooting for a fighter from Morcambe?
It's going to be an extremely one sided crowd, despite the fact Whyte is from the UK. Whyte doesn't do a great deal to sell himself to the general public and to most people he just seems like a generic heavyweight. His antics this week won't be winning people over either and I'm really interested to see how he handles 80% of the crowd booing him come fight night. There will be a lot of travellers there, it's going to be a very pro Fury crowd.
Whyte probably has a lot of the same fans who support Joshua and I would expect plenty more to jump on the bandwagon when he fights fury.
I don't know if there were a lot of Lennox Lewis fans on hand when he faced Frank Bruno. Especially when Frank jumped out to the early lead.
I doubt there is a great deal of cross over between AJ fans and Whyte fans. AJ has a massive casual following that will not have any idea who Whyte is,.
Yeah, Fury has a fanbase - Whyte is just a relatively popular fighter. Apart from Aydamn, I don't think I've ever come across a Dillian Whyte "fan".. mainly fans of boxing who just recognise him as one of the best UK heavyweights so will watch.
Yes. People who know of Whyte are at least somewhat into boxing, whereas Fury is a household name that even total casuals who have never watched a boxing match on TV in their life, like my mum, has heard of.
Whyte must have a lot of fans, which says a lot about England and where it is headed. If he didn't have a lot of fans, Hearn wouldn't pay him what he does. It's better not to lie to ourselves, as hard as it is to accept what's happened.
