Yeah I saw th at, was it not boxing social? Either way they said no media ‘except you guys’ which is strange because I though Fury liked all that it kept him entertained rather than going through an uninteresting mundane camp where he will lose focus.

I agree I thought they were outstanding in the buildup to the last fight. That delay whilst the UK rights were up for grabs has probably delayed UK marketing efforts. Now that BT know they have the fight like you I'm expecting some good content to be on the way.

Last time they supported with a print campaign also, so it could be one of those rare times that boxing occupies more of the mainstream advertising space. I hope it's a success for them, it's good for UK boxing fans for Sky to have some meaningful competition.

This is spot on. Promotion can't start in the UK until they clarified which network is going to show it. Also, the reality is that months of build up is not needed these days. When they had to rely on boxing press etc. things took a lot longer to build, but these days everything is much more instant in terms of reaching your potential audience. Top rank are switched on, the main focus since the first fight has been on building the perception of them both individually. The consensus opinion on Wilder has rocketed after his last few fights. Fury may not have been in great fights but he is a lot more known in the US now due to his media interviews, WWE etc. I think it has been really well orchestrated even if it doesn't look that way. They just need to blast out promotion in the last few weeks with the reach that ESPN and BT have and they will do good numbers. I would be amazed if it doesn't happen (barring injury, which is always a risk in this sport we love!)
