As Floyd said: Some day I want to hand the torch to another young fighter. It could be Yuri Gamboa. It could be Broner. We just dont know, but Id love to hand that throne to one of those fighters. Ive seen Broner fight a few times. As of right now, hes in a learning stage. Even though hes a champion, its still a learning stage. Because fighters dont understand that when its at this level, its different. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJ5KUB45t8o[/ame]
Gamboa is a beast in the ring aswell as Rios. This whole situation is unfortunate, i dont believe Gamboa is afraid. Gamboa just wants a fair shake and it seems he was trying to get that point across but TR did not pay much attention to him and kept things rolling by planning press conferencing a booking a date on HBO.
If he's stuck in a contract, this can just keep him from fighting ANYONE for a couple years. Not to mention, it Floyd even LICENSED as a promoter? I know he tags his name onto GBP fights, but is he actually promoting them, in a sense Main Events, TR, or GBP promotes fights? His web site shows nothing. No fighters.
:huh Just joined w/ 14 posts? Wow....so NOT an alt account.. It's called research. Something very few seem to do here. I wondered if he was licensed as a promoter, so I checked. It says nothing. So it would behoove Gamboa to NOT forfeit his prime years fighting in court, rather the ring, for someone who cannot even promote him.
Do posters even think things through? Gamboa is co-promoted by TR and some outfit called Arena-Box Promotion, and apparently in for two more years. So trying to go with another with only ensure this winds up in court. And THEN there's the matter of whether Mayweather can even legally promote fighters. I hope Gamboa, at the MOST, is just posturing for more money. This is a big fight to skip out on.
Gamboa is finished. Pulled the ultimate ***** move. He was scared, and now he's trying to hide. He's been a waste of time, damn *****.
Gamboa hasn't sign the contract because they want 5 more years, that is what is stoping the fight, not the money, Arum and Oner want 5 more years, he is doing the right thing he wants to b a free agent at the end of his contract to cash out for real, if you guys don't c that or support a boxer fighting for his freedom then you are been use too.
I'm all for Gamboa leaving Arum (I dont think they have done all that well for him), but I did want to see the Rios fight, so that would suck. However, he should definetly make sure his contract is up if he is trying to leave. Arum will try his best to ruin him if he has any real legal binding to Gamboa.
