Will Gamboa struggle with Mtagwa like Lopez did?

Im starting to think Gamboa really might struggle in their. He gets too wild at times, thats the way Mtagwa wants to fight. Of course I like Gamboa winning, and probably by stoppage, but I'm not so sure he doesn't have to work like crap for it

Good observation. I think I will still bet a small amount on a parlay of Luevano / Mtagwa and maybe throw Viloria in there too. It will be a huge payoff and Luevano and Mtagwa the definition of live underdogs.

Depends. If Gamboa 'boxes/runs' he'll win no doubt, if he stands and brawls itll be fireworks! No doubt Gamboa a big favorite but would LOVE ta see MTAGWA take it.

Gamboa should dominate easily. Africans are always in good shape and Mtagwa is as tough as they come. Gamboa is very hittable and has been downed by lesser opponents, so there is always a chance. But I see it this way. Lopez had been asking to go up in weight three fights prior to Mtagwa. I honestly think he couldn't make that weight anymore. And Gamboa is a VERY muscular 126lbs. So muscular, I don't think he will stay at 126lbs for too long. So yes, he should dominate.

You need to stop the nuthugging!! Gamboa is fast and very strong. I agree he should dominate. Especially considering Mtagwa is coming up in weight and after a very though fight agains Lopez. He did great! But Lopez hit him A LOT!. And Gamboa is pretty hittable himself. Defense is not one of his qualities.

JuanMa struggled with Mtagwa because he allowed him to frustrate him and he decided to go for the KO which ultimately sapped him of his energy and left him open to be hit. Gamboa will also struggle mightly against Mtagwa as Gamboa has poor defense and will be hit big, maybe even droped, and will find that Mtagwa's head is a bit harder than he expected. Mtagwa has a solid beard and to me is a tough fight for anyone with his chin an awkward style. I obviously think Gamboa wins, but he will struggle.

Not at all, just like Juanma has stated there should be no reason why Gamboa should struggle with Mtagwa. Juanma said all he has to do is outbox him and win an easy decision. Not to exchange punches, esp. if it is not neccessary.Good advice from a potential opponent.

It depends on what you mean.

Gamboa is susceptible to balance/flash knockdowns, so he may dig himself a points hole based on hitting the deck. A different type of adversity than Lopez. Other than getting buzzed and dropped a few times as Mtagwa is strong, he shouldn't have nearly as much of a problem stylistically. Mtagwa isn't much of a one-punch finisher, so Gamboa should be able to recover any and all times he goes down. Other than those moments where Mtagwa catches up to him and catches him with a good shot, he'll be 100% in control - unlike Lopez who managed to stay on his feet but floundered for most of the second half of his battle with Mtagwa.
