Tank Davis basically fought nobody in his entire career. His Top 3 wins are LSC, an freaking old Gamboa and Pedraza. Solid guys but nothing special excluding the very nice KO against LSC who was a champ for several years despite fighting very soft competition most of the time. While Teo Lopez stepped up his game and beat two elite guys in their prime in Commey and Loma within 10 months, Garcia and Haney fought subpar opposition yet. Garcia did make a good move in fighting Campbell. Campbell isn't an elite fighter but he's much better than anyone Haney has fought. Will Garcias performance last night inspire Haney to fight better guys in the future? Or will Haney be a second outcome of Gervonta Davis fighting bums mixed up with some above average guys?
I think Tank will continue to fight small guys from 122lbs-126lbs, while ducking the smoke at 135lbs. Sad to say because he's talented and could pose a threat to all the top LW's - but he, his team, or both don't have confidence in him. Haney may eventually step up but time will tell. I think he's hungry.
I agree, Ryan impressed. Tank is still the cash cow of division for now ... If Tank he doesn’t step up in his next fight, & Ryan continues to blast against the better Ops tank will lose that “A-Side” shine. if Haney wants to stay relevant he needs to step up as well. As he has the “weakest sauce”email champion resume of the bunch. Teofimo is at the top of this food chain but he doesn’t have the popularity of a King Ry or a Tank.
Casual fan wise? no But I think he will be special in time. closest thing to a young pretty boy floyd.
ok your broader point is well taken, but are you trying to pass off luke campbell as some kind of step up in competition? he's just the latest guy who couldnt hack it in water polo so he tried his luck in other sports and had mild success against the usual suspects along the UK circuit but got soundly defeated anytime he fought any real fighters. how many times are we going to play this game ?
