This might seem like a joke, but I'm dead serious. Alv has serious stamina issues and would gas faster than usual if he played it too aggressively. :think:huh
I think he will pressure Floyd try to cut off the ring, use his size and try to keep Floyd on the ropes and bang away at floyds body to try to set up combos upstairs
I think it'll look like Trout. I think the first round, he'll feel him out and come forward a little and then try to walk Floyd down and apply more pressure and corner him. Then after Floyd works him over some and invest in some intelligent jabs to the solar plexus, Canelo's forward momentum will slow down a lot and we'll start seeing Floyd even back him up at times
I think he'll try to land his jab heavy. He has to pressure him at some point, but throwing with Floyd as he comes to him isn't a bad strategy. If he gets to his body as Floyd ducks to his right after throwing that straight right hand, it could do damage down the stretch. Yup, once he tastes the speed and sees the difference in timing, he'll want to back up. But now we know he can actually fight backing up, and Floyd won't be as active coming forward as Trout was.
Well, that's what they all say. But at least he'll have advantages other fighters didn't. He better fight smart and try to learn from the Cotto fight.
Box and intelligently pressure, if may bounces around like he did with guerrero and canelo chases him instead of closing him off, and the ref allows alot of clinching... Canelo is going to have a hard time. Canelo does have advantages others didn't... Power, size, intelligence, speed and he can box or be agressive.
He'll be studying the Castillo, DLH, and Cotto fights. His words The primary plan for all three was to pressure, but they were good enough at boxing to avoid getting completely owned by Floyd in the center of the ring.
Right. I think Canelo might be able to. His head movement is something else. If there's one thing those fighter's lacked, it was head movement coming forward. Cotto's head movement is mostly defensive and he relied on coming in behind a high guard. Castillo kept low to come in, but didn't really bob or weave on his way in or in the middle of the ring. DLH did parry and duck down with his knee out in front and had success. Not giving Floyd an open target enabled him to come in easier. But it wasn't rhythmic.
Only a Fool would try to Outbox Floyd, you cant.. the only way to beat Floyd is to take him out fast, with a Flash KO. or with a KTFO kind of punch...
