I've honestly got a slight feeling for Rees in this fight. Broner is a skillful fighter no doubt but he needs a lot of work to become a complete fighter at world level. His foot movement is very poor and seems to struggle against guys who don't stand right in front of him and allow him to dictate the pace. Rees isn't stupid enough to employ the tactics which Demarco did which were pretty non existent in all honesty. Broner may very well dominate Rees but I just have a suspicion that he may have underestimated Rees a lot here and if he has done then Rees' chances just got a whole lot better. Rees will no doubt be in the shape of his life for this fight and Lockett will have devised a game plan which will suit for Broner, whereas I wouldn't be surprised if Broner hasn't even got a game plan he just expects to walk through Rees. Rees has proved people wrong before in the M'Baye fight and there is no reason for him not to do so again. Put it this way Rees would beat everyone which Broner has already IMO, maybe not as impressively but I still would make Rees favorite against them all.
I see no way for Rees to consistently get inside against Broner without getting bashed up. Broner is nothing that special, but he can punch, he has fast hands and he's defensively adept enough to deal with what the Welshman brings. All I see is Rees starting well, moving in and out while Broner figures out his own timing and distance. Then BANG, look for an uppercut or a straight that puts Rees into reverse and on course for a painful beating. Lockett will pull him out before the mid-way point.
Why do you think that? DeMarco seems to get a lot of praise for being a steady pro who's been on TV a lot. His biggest fights were against Edwin Valero, who bashed him up, and Jorge Linares who made him look foolish until he stood there like a spaz and let DeMarco break his face open.
Broner is massivaly overated, and Rees is under rated. Broner is rightfully the heavy favourite and will likely win in dominating fashion, but not this heavy and not as dominating as predicted.
Won't see round 7. Rees deserves respect no doubt about it but we are talking about a guy who is going to be the new 'man' in boxing. The new half Floyd half Hamed of boxing. Broner is going to show how good he is and a lot of people on here are going to have to come back and say 'actually he IS the real deal'. Broner KO5
I think Rees will last the 12 and will be competitive for at least 6-8 Rounds before Broner takes over, I really Hope Rees pulls a win out of the bag but I just don't see It.
It's Broner 1/80 to win, Rees is 16/1 .... I see Broner getting the stoppage around 7-9 which is at 7/2 :good
If Andy Murray had any bit of pop in his punches he'd have stopped Rees. DeMarco is way better than Rees.
