Golovkin hits hard, but I don't think he's a one-punch KO artist. Murray, Adama, Stevens, and Monroe all got up after being knocked down.
He isnt, he is "heavy handed" Instead of having one or two super powerful punches he has to find a way to hit people with , he has a wide ****nal of heavy punches that can threaten and damage from any range and any angle. That is his strength. Its something so basic, yet so underlooked. Ability to hurt from anywhere > ability to insta KO under certain narrow conditions.
For reference, here are two other guys with pretty good punching form. This fight is a good one for study. [yt]8wJENbxxaS8[/yt]
He isn't putting his full weight into his punches which is why he never loses balance like some punchers including Kovalev do. The fact that he stops people with putting only 60-80% into his punches is amazing.
AA is\was no where near GGG's skill level or power. GGG's style is made to pressure and breakdown fighters and making them submit or take out tge white flag into the later rounds, yet GGG is taking respectable fighters out with one punch with very little effort. GGG and AA NOTHING alike, only similarity is their disregard for speed, and AA has already been outboxed, while GGG has NEVER been outboxed, yet.
AA was a murderous puncher at 160. When was the last time GGG knocked somebody unconcious with a single shot ?
Ishida, he was stepping forward with an overhand right like AA liked to do. The difference is, when AA did not catch someone with the huge swinging hook or stepping OHR, he went the distance. GGG also throws to the body with more visible effect than AA, which is huge.
Golovkin is NOT abraham :deal Golovkin is light years ahead of Abraham in the technical department, and stops his opponents while AA did not have so much success in doing so in the 160 dvision.
