at34, there not much left to sell, left it too late in his career. Hes got at tops 2 or 3 fights left in him at world level, and sadly about the same number hes already had.
i think yer missing the point.....loeffler said "we would have fought degale if he was offered to us".......think about it for a minute.....why mention him? why not say "we never heard about him or inquired about him...i dont think hearn has much control over him and hes got other things hes planning"???? i also happen to think you are quite naive to think eubank just "fell through" and they just happened to strike a deal for brook....but i wont even go there....thats my opinion
Not too sure crawford would do well in the UK either tbh. Golovkin has a big name in the UK, he's known for his KO's.. & brook also has a big profile in the UK. Crawford isn't very well known & also off the top of my head who could he even fight? It would have to be UK fighter and I can't think of anyone at that weight that would do well on PPV.
Your missing the point, it has nothing to do with degale. The point they are making is they didn't pick brook, he was offered and they accepted. They're trying to make the point that the weight was irrelevant, they would have fought at 168 if a fighter from that division was offered...
so they would have taken on a 140lber if it was offered and he was enough of an attraction? like i said....i think yer naive in thinking that brook just happened to come about....that fight had been floated many months ago....with golovkin even answering questions about it calling him "too small"....
They just need to know who he is.. Andre Ward was the same fighter.. but no one knows who he is.. in the box sense still.. but GGG is power to the masses..
He was asked a question because brook did a few interviews saying he will fight golovkin.. it wasn't just a random question. Your being stupid, they're just trying to make the point they'd move to 168 for the right fight, HBO gave the a date and they had to a deliver a fight on that date. Degale is the only other name from eddie that would make sense to put on UK PPV to fight golovkin.
its "you're"....but i see what you are saying....dont say im being "stupid"....im just trying to understand him floating the name of degale....to me it sounds/sounded more like an attempt to use his name to legitimize this fight
Because he's also signed with eddie and would be able to put golovkin v degale on sky ppv. That's the only reason... Ofcourse they're throwing out a heavier guy to just say 'look we took what we were offered, had it been a bigger guy that's also no problem' I just don't see the big fuss, degale is with haymon, he's gone to US and has now lost interest from the UK public & eddie won't go out of his way to deliver anything big for degale, that's now upto al haymon.
i still dont like him floating the name of a "bigger guy" from the UK that also happens to work somewhat with hearn....it seems super disingenuous to me.....especially given what youve said about the hearn/degale relationship......it doesnt need to be said all that needs to be said is "we were trying to fight eubank...it fell through and brook was easy to get a deal done on short notice".....mentioning a bigger guy, by name, that happens to work with hearn....that you never even asked about....seems like name dropping to me he could have said "we would have been open to another mw or a super mw or something"....instead he drops the name of a uk smw that also works with hearn but never even came close to discussing.. its not a big deal really...i just think it speaks volumes about the kind of garbage loeffler likes to pull in the media...hes used to being more a behind the scenes type of guy...and now with gggs popularity hes seeing alot more cameras and mics in front of him in the states...and i think he says some things in posturing
I just don't understand the point of all of this lol. I've just told you the reason, they're taking some criticism about taking on a welterweight, so to try take away some criticism they've said they would of taken on a bigger guy... forget the name degale, the point is about the bigger guy. Degale is just a guy who would also make sense right now in the UK.. It's just a simple interview with a name that probably just popped into they're heads at that time... stop reading into it so much lol. Who really cares, he's fighting brook and that's that. What they say inbetween that just ignore, who cares
But eddie can't offer another middleweight or smw... they're making the point they had to act fast as the date was 9 weeks away and took what eddie offered
