The only reason GGG didn't attack Canelo like he attacked Vanes , Macklin etc ..is because he didn't have the gonads ..He didn't want to be countered to death by the superior boxer.. Simple as that.

People cried and cried that Canelo ran a 'marathon' in the first fight , but when GGG goes backwards its called boxing
GGG had Canelo moving into him all night and he STILL couldn't win. In fact he got busted up so badly he needs the best part of a year to recover.
Canelo is fine , he's back next month , which means he went into training camp not long after giving Golovkin his pasting:jump:

Come on now. In the first fight when he gassed or the pressure got to much Canelo retreated to the ropes. Oh wait some claim he was pressured to the ropes because he wanted to fight there. Riiiigghhttt.

In the second fight Canelo came forward. Did a good job of it. However unlike Canelos forced or because he wanted to ( whichever you prefer ) retreat to the ropes Golovkin didn't retreat. Canelo advanced and Golovkin TURNED him . its a novel thing to some I know. But its actually a thing to turn your opponent. **** outta here. Show me one time where GGG backpedaled all the way to the ropes and sat there like canelo did.
    I'll wait.

    Yeah , thats correct.

Canelo isn't invincible , if Golovkin opened up on him and beat him to head and body , he very likely wouldn't be able to handle it. If Golovkin put him on the ropes , then why didn't he work him over when he had him there?
The whole purpose of getting a guys back on the ropes is to put damage on them. It makes no sense that he would walk him to the ropes and then stay outside the connect radius once he had him there.
Canelo laying his back on the ropes was by choice. He beckoned GGG in and GGG wouldn't take the bait. He should have , even if it meant getting stung because he needed to take risks in order to win.. GGG just doesn't seem to have that do or die mentality. Canelo showed he had plenty of it in the rematch.

There's no way GGG would put his back to the ropes willingly against Canelo because he knows a can of whoop ass would be opened up on him. Nothing more to it than that.

Riiight. Look up the definitions of unified champion (not the same as undisputed) and reigning champion then.

He even admitted he did. GGG and Abel were acting like straight divas heading into the rematch, from demanding a bigger split, to not approving judges, to not approving the referee. The list goes on and on as far as what Team GGG tried to do to tilt the rematch in their favor through negotiations and complaining.

I think he will remain a tough challenger and one of the top dogs. But I don't think he will have a long reign again. He is old and as someone else said, all things must come to an end.
