Golden Boy can continue to stall the fight by refusing to offer GGG a satisfactory percentage of the action. Who knows, it could blow out to 2019 at this rate.

If the fight ever actually happens GGG will make well in excess of $20m. But Golden Boy will be careful to hold back offers GGG might accept until they are convinced he has started to lose his edge, and that could take a few years.

Cannel appears headed to face Saunders, as his mandatory.

    The two likely outcomes:

    1. Saunders wins and then fights GGG for ultimate unification. In this scenario, Canelo becomes the B-side of any subsequent GGG-Canelo bout. In fact, the whole idea of the fight would be a maybe, at best.

    2. Canelo wins. Later, GGG becomes his mandatory and either the purses are made fair (purse bids), or Canelo relinquishes the title. This would make two titles given up by Canelo rather than face GGG. In this scenario, Canelo loses most of his drawing power and again, the rationale for the fight would be questionable.
