Exactly. You could argue that he didn't deserve the fight with Byrd but after that draw how can you say that he didn't deserve a rematch? That was some pathetic **** from Byrd avoiding the second fight. After that he obviously deserved a shot at Ruiz.
And won them both, but was robbed, frankly. Particularly in the Ruiz fight. Let's not forget this. :good That said, you're right - he didn't deserve the shots then, and he deserves them even less today. But he may yet get them. And I'd give him a shot against anyone but Wlad.
He'll probably get another title shot if he wins another fight I wouldn't be surprised to see King put him in against the winner of Maskaev/Peter
Sam Peter would go right at him and destroy him quickly, Golota can not beat a heavy handed Heavyweight, history proves this. He was beaten quickly and overwhelmed by big punching fighters like Lewis, Tyson, and Brewster, Peter would be just another name on this list.:yep
Vitali already gets the winner, it's been pre-determined. Don't worry, Vitali will wreck whoever is unlucky enough to win. :good
Well, let's no go expecting Peter-Maskaev to be a forgone conclusion just yet, shall we? Especially after Peter-McCline nearly ended in disaster...
With Vitali's track record who knows, I dont see him making it out of training camp, even if he does, he's not the same fighter he once was.
I would have to favor Peter's chances vs. Golota for that very same reason. Samuel would have to land cleanly to do so though. Brewster, Lewis & Tyson were known for their accuracy & that's not a strong point of Sam's. Brewster throws a nice textbook left hook, Peter's shots are powerful but more "winging" than correct.
Yeah, that's why I mentioned Golota as a potential opponent. I have a feeling King will try to avoid Vitali at all costs (especially if Peter wins because he is relatively young and King can make some decent money off of him). The WBC will likely take action and force the winner to face Vitali or have their belt stripped. That means Vitali, assuming he could make it through camp, would get the WBC belt back by stopping either Maskaev or Peter.
