I mean this dude has all the chances to become a boxing superstar.

    - elite boxing skills
    - super-saiyan power
    - he's very humble and polite
    - HBO

    :good

If he defeats canelo or cotto in a brutal fashion.. But i think his popularity is short lived compared to pac or mayweather.. since he wasted too much time in europe.

If Khan does enough of those neck strengthening exercises, it'll be him.

He needs to beef up that neck. His chin isn't all that bad but his neck is that of a rooster. Which is why he gets KTFO a lot.

I'm curious to see if Virgil Hunter has showed Khan how to survive a round while your hurt. All that running backwards just screws him up even more. He needs to clinch hard repeatedly.

:D Mike Tyson's short thick neck is what allowed him to take some brutal shots and still be standing.

If he keeps winning then I don't see why not, considering he's got a fan friendly personality, explosive fighting style and clean image

So far, from what we have seen from Golovkin, he just doesn't have what it takes to be a huge mega-star like Mayweather.
Mayweather earned his way to the top by fighting the best A level stars while on his way to the top. There are some fighters he never faced like Khan, and plaster-claw Margorita, but for the most part Mayweather jumped 4 divisions and fought the best from each. From Corollas to Juan Marquez to Juda to Mosley to ODLH to Pacquiao.
Golovkin, even with 40-0 wins against sub-level opponents won't make him a superstar. He may earn alot of money by selling out arenas because he is a white boxer, and whites who have tons of disposable income to spend love white spending it to see white boxers, but great? Never.

As I recall, in many of Mayweather's 49 fights, boxing fans thought that Mayweather would finally meet his match, as in Mayweather Vs Judah, Mayweather Vs Cotto, Mayweather Vs Hatton, or Mayweather Vs Molina, but in every case Mayweather came out on top with the "W".
This is a trait that Golovkin does not have and from appearances, will never have. Has Golovkin fought the best at MW? No.
Will he ever fight the best MWs like Quillin, Lee, Jacobs? No this year and probably not next year either.
Yeah, we know. Golovkin is being ducked. Easy to say, hard to prove, and we know Golovkin's camp has a history of shooting off wild claims and excuses. I.E. Loudmouth Sanchez.

Will he move up and fight the best at SMW? Who knows, but probably not.
Will he move up and fight the best at LHW. No!
So, the answer to if Golovlkin will be the next superstar behind Mayweather? Definitely not.
My vote would be for Ward, Gonzalez, Spence or perhaps, Imam.

Are you suggesting Khan should do a neck removal surgery?

Because that might work, look at this rough estimation of how that would look: http://i.imgur.com/n4xKEZo.png
