Remember when he fought Vanes but that was because Canelo messed up. Now what is the excuse for his next opponent?

It depends on how you define "respectable".

I think an opponent like Andrade would be the best option. If not then Derveyanchenko is a good option skill wise. He had a close fight with Jacobs.

It will be neither Andrade nor Derevyanchenko. An easier opponent for the first fight, for sure.

If he doesn't fight Canelo it's an easy fight. That's the problem with Golovkin and why he gets so much hate.

I would be surprised if it's Sulecki.

I could see it being somebody like Brant, Sulecki or Derevyanchenko. All decent options outside of the obvious ones we'd rather see. Out of those 3 Sulecki would probably be my preference but any of those 3 names would be ok with me.

Derevyanchenko PBC fighter politics would get in the way plus he is already booked

Never knew/forgot Derevyanchenko was PBC. Those pesky boxing and TV network politics eh.

He's with DiBella. Who claimed that they were in a good position because could choose who to work with, blah-blah. But, in reality, DiBella is a almost like a partner to the PBC. Maybe he has even talked Sergey into believing that staying there is in Derevyanchenko's best interest.
Derevyanchenko should have signed with the DAZN already.

I think Abel Sanchez mentioned Brant as a possible option. Just the right kind of opponent for GGG before the Canelo fight.

Golovkin could fight Callum Smith, KO him, and Smith would be considered a weight drained hype job who got lucky against a broken shouldered Groves.

So what hope does the bum-hunter have?

Even Canelo fought at 154 for years. Jacobs is a cancer victim. Lemieux wasn't undefeated.

Maybe he should go for Rocky Fielding and hydration cap him to open up some body shots. Respect.
