We disagree on that one Richards. I like Brook and hope he goes on to do good stuff at 154.... but I think Canelo is a horrible matchup and he gets beat on and probably stopped late... though I suppose I could see him giving a good fight and also lasting the distance. Canelo KO 9-12 or a comfortably UD would be my pick. Power isn't everything.... Canelo will still be comparatively bigger than brook, and has become a pretty decent boxer, nice counterpuncher, and while not a speedster, I think hes got deceptive speed, to go along with his obvious imposing strength and power. Also, to be fair to Canelo.... the Hatton fight was dang near 6 years ago. Was about a year after he was rocked by Cottos little brother as well. Hes grown levels since then, in experience, skills, and physical prowess (speed, power and strength) Really I see most of his fights from 2011 and previous as irrelevant when discussing the Canelo of today. I think Canelo would be just a bit too much for Brook. But dang good fight, wouldn't mind seeing it.
Golovkin only let Wade and some other name I forgot get free shots in. Not Lemieux, not Stevens. Fanboys can be dumb.
Just shows how gullible people are to ever believe ggg lets people get shots on him. To me, his behavior in the Brook fight was childish and embarrassing. I hope he gets in his emotions against Jacobs like that though I don't expect it. This is a real threat to him this time.
Really? You feel offended by that term? I think you're taking the term a bit too literally. Do I think Jacobs is a bum literally? Hell no, he is a multi-millionaire, professional athlete who beat cancer. But RELITVELY speaking, he doesn't belong in the ring with GGG, at all.
Didn't say I was offended. I said I dont understand why fans call top 13 fighters of the world an obviously derogatory, inaccurate, and disrespectful term as bum. Was just wondering why... when there are more accurate, more practical, and much less disrespectful terms to use. Thats all.
I wouldnt say Jacobs is more athletic. I don't even know how to reconcile that. He was slow to catch Mora when Sergio was hiding outside, and he doesnt exactly boggle your mind with his head movement. He's got some speed of foot, but unless he's gonna be running for GGG for the whole fight, his ever so slight speed advantage is completely nullified by GGGs footwork and balance when it comes to athleticism, and GGG throws far better combinations. IDK.....maybe Jacobs can jump higher.....though the saying goes....White men can't jump.....not entirely sure where Asians fit in that equation.
No he wont give him anything for free. But I think he carries him a few rounds till he gets bored. Then knocks him out.
Soon as Jacobs throws the quick jab, GGG gonna turn and fire a left hook under DJ R elbow which will be automatically lifted to guard against his greatest fear in this fight, which is a CR overhand. DJs ONLY CHANCE if to forget every single damned thing he's ever been taught by a trainer in terms of dictating a fight and rely soley on his God given power and pray his savagery is enough to drop and finish GGG before he is touched and put to sleep.
GGG has great ring IQ so he won't take big risks early on. Jacobs on the other hand should try to lure GGG to make a mistake and catch him flush in RD1! That's his best chance
There's a difference between letting someone land on you and being less defensively concerned than usual owing to the other dude not being able to hurt you. As for the Jacobs fight, I agree with Kirk; think we'll see him just work behind the jab for most of the fight. I see it ending with Jacobs on the ropes and him being dropped from the hook to the body then the top.
