Will Golovkin have even 1 meaningful fight in 2016?

2016 is upon us and Golovkin will see 34 years old fly by.
All of the US boxing commentators of eastern European heritage take every chance to give Golovkin a "free-ride" and mega exposure for conquering bums.
Bias assed Lampley helped the hype by naing Golovkin as TFG "VIP". How the hell that happen by beating a mediocre like Lemeiux over Mayweather's win over Pac, or Canelo's win over Cotto?

Who you think Golovkin's next fight will be? Jacobs, Quillin, or Lara, or Monroe ll?

Quillin is irrelevant. Jacobs could work an opportunity as he is the 'regular' champ but we'll see what he does. I'm yet to see Lara make any actual effort to fight at 160.

May/Pac was a lame fight with two way past prime guys. Cotto is also a shadow of his former self; a good win for Canelo still. The less attention a title fight with a BS catchweight get the better in my opinion.

Most likely it'll be Johnson as he is IBF mandatory and then hopefully Canelo later in the year.

Whatever fight that helps him secure a unification will be a meaningful fight

Canelo has to face Golovkin in 2016, so we know he'll have 1 for sure

It all depends on whether or not certain fighters in division decide to grow a pair and face him. i wouldnt be shocked if Canelo, bjs, and Jacobs all found a way to avoid him.

 Lame or not Pac-Mayweather set record PPV, earned over $600M in revenue and gave Mayweather his 49th win to tie Marciano's fake record. Besides, Golovkin-Lemieux was definitely no Hagler-Hearns and even more lame than Pac-Mayweather.

Quillin ain't through yet. Even at this stage his name is better than anyone currently on Golovkin's resume.
Styles make fights so don't make the mistake of believing just because Jacob got the 1st round KO that Golovkin would do the same.

Lara has already stated he'd fight at 160. What choice does he have since like Rigo and now Ortiz, he is really the actual fighter who is being ducked.

With Canelo, Golovkin continues his history of facing Jr. MWs moving up to MW. :smoke

Why do you believe that Marciano's 49-0 is fake?

Please explain, this should be good.

Marciano's record will forever be written with golden letters in boxing's most important division's history. The midget thug you are praising will never ever be as respected.

WHy Marciano when there are many of fighters whose undefeated record exceeds that of Marciano and with better quality opposition.
I agree with wise man, Larry Holmes. :smoke

Who cares about PPV numbers? Unless the money goes into your pocket then it doesn't really matter. Meaningful fights (to me) are fights against people that matter in a division, intense rivlaries and title fights.

Quillin ain't through? He was never anything special to begin with. A KO of Murray is better on a CV than Quillin. Styles do make indeed make fights but be honest with yourself here and free of bias - do you really think Quillin would beat GGG? Or come close to it?

He said he would and then instead fought Zaveck at 154 instead. He could have got someone equally poor at 160 quite easily. For the record, I think Lara should move up asap. There's not much for him at 154 really. Maybe he could look at a Canelo re-match somewhere down the line?

Apologies, missed this part. Do those wins not count then?
