What you guys think, what are the chances of gomez pulling this one out against vitali?

it seems as though he is realy up for this and should not be
    under-estimated

    :huh

5 years age I might've picked him, today, it's very hard to see him pulling it off. One of the best CWs ever who brought his speed and power up to HW, he looked like a very good contender back then. Technically very sound, excellent counterpunching, good defense, movement, not the best style for Vitali, or anyone. What a waste of talent.

But Gomez has little left today. Showed some of the old stuff vs. Virchis, who had a close one vs. Chagaev, so I still expect him to be competitive, cause problems with speed and have success catching Vitali here and there, but his laziness, the disappointing loss a few years back (evidence of weak mental skills), being inactive and showing his age favors Vitali, who is very accurate, strong, not easy to hit and pretty busy. Remember, he got rid of the ring rust vs. Peter in dramatic fashion, so you can expect an even better Klitschko on fight night.

But I still like this match-up very much. Who knows. If Gomez secretly kept a last huge performance in him, Vitali will have a tough night. But I just don't see him dealing with Vitali's power, size and output.

If he got Kayoed once, it'll happen again....

If Vitali doesn't knock him out the HW division will disappoint once again.

He has a weak chin. If Klitschko catchs him flush, it will be a short night.

He seems well up for the fight. I hope he can make it interesting and drag Klitschko into the later rounds. I'll be rooting for Gomez!

    He has no chance. Why?

He is not aggressive enough and does not have the power. I do not think he will win one round before he is TKOed in about the 6th or 7th. His Chin can't take the punches that Peter did.

Gomez should have went with the whole "Vitali doesn't like fighting friends" thing and kissed Vitali's ass and been the best friend imaginable to him. But no, instead he makes it clear that he isn't Vitali's friend. Idiot! Vitali may not like fighting friends, but he loves beating the **** out of people who AREN'T friends! Gomez is ****ing dead.

I've seen very little of Gomez, so I won't comment on that. But I have heard that Gomez used to give both Klitschko brothers fits during sparring sessions.

Not an easy fight for Vitali, but at the end of the day Vitali will prevail....

Based on what? Getting knocked down in one fight in his entire career, by one of his best friends? Virchis is one of the biggest punchers out there right now, and Virchis is the one who went down, not Gomez.

Gomez has enough boxing skill to beat Klitschko. The question is, does he have the will?

Vitaly's coach Sdunek has repeated again and again that Gomez was the most gifted of all the fighters he has trained in his long career in the paid ranks.

Well,I for one think that Gomez is past his prime. He cant run circles around his foes as he used to do a few years ago. He has wasted his huge talent by prefer parything to sweating in the gym. He has never kept his nose to the grindstone dedicating himself with his whole heart and soul to his choosen profesion as he should done.
He will make Vitaly look bad for some rounds but then Vitaly's cannon will have found its target so that the Cuban wont hold the forth any longer surrendering to Vitaly's impressive firepower.Vitaly by either tko or ko in the second half of their encounter.
