Good question. Chavez corner threw in the towel when they knew he was taking an unnecessary beating. If floyd is really pummeling Fatton around the ring, will his corner have the decency to end it?
No the real question is will you have the balls to admit you were waaaay wrong about Ricky if he turns Floyd over, I suspect not, tosser:thumbsup
The only way I would admit I was wrong about Ricky is if he fought a brilliant strategic BOXING match. Seeing as thats never going to happen, I'll never be wrong about him lol.
Absolutely, what else he's doing in there for Chrissake?! I have heard many criticise Buddy McGirt for the Brewster and Gatti thangs and that he's a bad trainer but he protected his trainees like Shields protected Jesus Chavez and Miguel Diaz/Corrales father protected Chico... Listen, I have been listening and watching Graham since he was in the Sky Sports studio for the Mayweather-Gatti fight and he's been suggesting Ricky to have a great chance against Floyd even after that performance against Gatti... Then, he says he has no doubts about the outcome of this one, sucks on the cigar, trembles his hand and looks too much into the fight - that is not good and I have always feared for Hatton's physical integrity in the first place... I'm not sayin he's takin a beating but Graham has the moral duty to intervene in case it happens, even more than Joe Cortez has.
I cannot see Ricky's corner stopping it before the ref does. And the ref will not be overprotective in there because he knows Ricky is tough and has heart and anythink like a premature stoppage would break Ricky's heart forever, damaging him more than any amount of battering could. The ref might stop it on cuts if its so bad Ricky couldn't continue at all - there would be no shame in that, even from Ricky's perspective.
But sometimes you have to change your gameplan. If a Hatton victory on points is no longer possible (let's say: 8:2 rounds in favour of Floyd), he WILL/HAS TO go for the KO.
