    Has he got a mandatory?

I thought butler was ranked in the top 10 and this was a voluntary. But if he has mandatory obligations then the wbo wouldnt let it go ahead.

Hope it goes ahead for Butlers sake as it will be the easiest title shot he could ever dream of.

The IBF seem to be more interested in stripping than Elizabeth Berkley in Showgirls.

Dangerous fight for Hall when he was nothing to gain, he has the title why risk losing to Butler when your not even defending it. IMO Caballero beats him for what it's worth.

Just thought I'd update this, a poster on a another site last night I emailed the IBF asking for clarity on the situation. They said that when the news was broken by ************** it was correct, however since then Golden Boy Promotions have contacted the IBF had informed them that they have no objections to the Hall vs Butler fight happening first. So looks like this could go ahead after all.

"Earlier in the day this was the case. However, at 5:30PM yesterday Golden Boy Promtions, Caballero's promoter, notified the IBF that they were not opposed to Hall fighting Butler first. So it appears that Hall vs. Butler will happen"

Why wouldn't the fight get sanctioned? Paul Butler won the IBF Intercontinental bantamweight title in his last fight and that gave him a top 15 ranking which means he's eligible to fight for Hall's title. This is a voluntary defence.

    Yer its for the belt.

Butler is eligible to fight for the belt but it was whether Hall has to fight his manditory first. It is a bit strange allowing two manditorys on the bounce, especially because they are at domestic level really.
