i like ricky alot, but all good things come to an end, i also think the health scares we have been hearing about will play a factor in not seeing him in the ring again..
Because I picked Hatton to beat your crush that makes me a Hatton nuthugger? Nice avatar, do you sleep with that magazine?
He should retire necause he woud not beat any other decent fiter he may beat afew bums but any one with real boxing pedigree would beat him
Well, your stupid threads shows that you're an ultimate Hatton nuthugger. Only a nuthugger like you would proclaim that Hatton was once an elite fighter. Stupid threads can only be done by stupid posters.
Hatton gets far too much **** on this forum. He should be proud of his career, he fought the best and came unstuck but he was a very good fighter for a time.
I dont think he's gonna see the top again...he's been in decline for a while. His defense - well rather the complete lack of it has been well exposed in his 2 losses. Having your face as a guard is not good. I was shocked at his schoolboy errors - basic boxing stuff he was very flawed on. Likeable guy but his skills fall short and he's indicated even before PAC destroyed him that he's 1 or 2 fights away from retirement. Now he's been beaten well I think he will have 1 more fight at least so as to avoid going out on a loss. He'll fight again for his pension plan thats all - his heart as a fighter has gone IMO. If that was still there he'd have said "I'm not going yet!" by now. He's hinted for a while only money is his motivating force now. If he can get the Khan fight and Amir can dodge his mandatory then I think that will happen. He could beat Khan...but its also not hard to see Khan outpoint him if he can keep on his toes for 12 and keep Hatton on the end of his jab. We'll have to see, but elite level - gone forever...he may have 1 or 2 wins to close his career on though.
I don't think Hatton will regain his status as an elite fighter. If we watch the highlights of the Tzuyu fight, we see him walking through punches throughout the whole fight, harder punches than those which floored him twice in the 1st round against Pac. After Mayweather (with a little hope from Cortez) exposed the flaws of Hatton's style, he's not been the same and never will be. The aura of invincibility once associated with Hatton has vanished, and this was all too evident against Lazcano. All this coupled with some poor tuition from Mayweather Sr I think confirms Hatton's non-status as elite. One thing is for sure though, should he decide to jump back into the ring, I'll be there singing his name loud as ever!
