Will hatton go back to his pre-tyzsu style?

I think what annoys scurlaruntings about Hatton is the fact so many people make such ignorant comments about him. Such as being the second coming of Roberto Duran. Scurla is a great poster who knows far more than most of these "jonnycomelately" kids who consider themselves fans because they have seen a couple of Hatton & Calzaghe fights.

I think he should, people underestimate Hattons boxing ability. I think the way he has been fighting is/was perfect for fighting Tszyu, mainly because Tszyu likes space to work. What has been apparent is his defence has been mainly to smother the other man, as of late.

Hatton should start punching mid-range as he is moving in towards an opponent, again this is what again he has ceased to do.

If i was Hatton i would use Lazcarno to try new things.

I thought Ricky looked a million dollars against Stevie Smith, if only he fought like that against Mayweather dammit he woulda won. I can't believe the difference in Hatton i those 2 performances.
Those 7lbs and Joe Cortez have a lot to answer for as well, he's an amaeteur nobody and needs to learn his **** from Mickey Vann and Dave Parris.

Hatton, by his own admission, often smothered his work before the Tszyu fight.

Before this descends into a boring flame session, let me spout my tuppence (translation - tuppence = two cents ;).

Hatton monstered Castillo. That body shot was a peach that every fighter, everywhere, ever, would have been proud of. Ironically, the hook that put Hatton down was also one of those very special shots.

Mr Castillo may have been past his best, but he wasn't shot. Kosta wasn't shot, either. They were good wins for Hatton.

There's a strange logic often used here that seems to say that because Mr X knocked out Mr Y quickly it follows that Mr Y wasn't very good in the first place. Never mind that Mr Y merited a promoter with the nous & contacts to engineer a title shot, never mind that the TV guys want to sell advertising space WHICH REQUIRES ROUNDS TO BE FOUGHT, never mind that Mr Y himself usually fancied his chances. No, never mind all those people demonstrating faith that Mr Y can make a good fight, just say that he's a no-good bum because it's easier than admitting that Mr X was a damn sight better than many people expected him to be.

It is so very, very easy to use hindsight and cynicism to rewrite a fighter's career. It's easy, and it's wrong.

Ricky Hatton stepped up with the very best and was found wanting. No shame in that. No shame at all. All else is bollocks. He was the man at 140 before he moved up and I see no reason why he can't retain that. He might get beaten again; the pies might catch him up. Ah well, them's the breaks.

    Yes he did.

what i meant was now when he is hurt he mauls and smothers. Although he has always been a physical fighter he has become more physical (wrestling wise) than pre Tszyu, yes his opposition has gone up, but he is now neglecting his jab, angles when attacking, etc.

In other words he now tends to maul opponents and wear them down along with his punches. As a posed to wearing them down with his workrate.

Do you understand me? (not being sarcastic, ive been on the **** allday).

I understand completely what you are saying but I would counter that Hatton has always done those things, like neglect his jab etc but it's only become more apparent since the oppositon has become stiffer.
