When will he be fighting next, May/June?

Time is catching up on Ricky, will he revert to form this time and hit the pies and guiness?

There is no way he will give up the booze, especially over the Christmas period.

Ideally he would relax up until the New Year enjoying some curries and a number of refreshing pints before getting straight back in doing light work, staying sharp and have around a 12 or so week camp leading up to his next fight especially if he is going up in weight.

More than likely but it will probably be less in excess than usual especially if he wants to beat oscar or manny.

Probably, you'd expect as he gets older he'll get a BIT wiser though

I met him at a function a few days after the Lazcano fight and he was bláddered

In my opinion he's done the damage already, he had incredible stamina and zest and I think that's had the edge taken off for a while

I do wonder how much the Kostya fight took out of him too, it rarely gets mentioned but that was one hell of a gruelling fight for both guys, Hatton took some punishment in that fight

He's often star spangled outwith camp though. That is the norm for him now and I don't see it changing.

He was on the WKD's (deadly serious lads) and pints in Tenerife when my pals met him flanked by minders.

Yes but he has settled down with his girlfriend nowadays so maybe not as much as in the past especially considering Floyd Snr has warned him publicly.I can't see the point in him changing his ways now anyhow

His age, it'll a lot harder to lose that weight after 30 and he must do his body damage each time he does it.

There's nothing wrong with a having a few beers in between pies like everybody does but the way Ricky takes it to extremes has always been a bit worrying. The likes of calzaghe are partial to a beer or several but Ricky's consumption is off the chart! Floyd sr was trying to get him off the beer altogether but really he should be just encouraging him to drink like most people who enjoy a few pints do and not like an industrial sump!!

he can't keep off the booze and food between fights, but has got the determination and single mindedness to get himself in shape for his fights. I wonder what will happen when he retires, has lots of money in the bank and doesn't have the fights to work towards....

Of course he will be on the sauce. No way will he change now. I think he will give himself longer to lose the weight in future say 14 or 15 weeks instead of the usual 12

I have fears about Hatton when he retires. He is obviously going to be doing the rounds at the sportmans dinners etc so will be on the Guiness 7 days a week. He will end up like a mini Bernard Manning. Hopefully he stays in the scene in some capacity to keep him active.

Aye. After retirement I can see Calzaghe enjoying a less pressurised life and settling into this well, just like lennox. Hatton loves the adoration and spotlight and it will be more difficult for him to adjust to no longer being the big boxer fighting the big fights. He has got other skills and hopefully will enjoy using these rather than being like many others who have retired young, with more money than they need, without a clue what to do (eg Gazza, although Ricky is far more mentally strong than Gazza (legend) is).

Calzaghe will settle back into his life in the valleys. Helping out in his Dads gym. Hatton will be on the manchester party scene. I agree hatton is mentally stronger than Gazza and seems to have a more settled family than Gazza has ever had.
