It was more less a joke but I could envision Valero hurting Hatton in sparring. It's well known that Hatton has been having difficulty with avoiding the left hand punches and sparring with Valero could prove to be a stiff learning curb.

you takes 2-3 boxers to completely emulate pac's style:

    1. Calderon coz of his quick footwork and lat movement
    2. Ricardo Torres for a speedy hand attacks and straight jobs
    3. head and shoulder movements? - anyone you know guys? bob pac?

FOr someone to emulate it, you need 1 boxer who has attribute at least 2 of those you said(i.e. 1 & 2, 1&3, 2 & 3).

Because your sparmates may have the quick footwork and lateral movement, they need to emulate what kind of punches Pac will be doing.

Your sparmates might have speedy hands, but doesn't have the in and out movements. It's just a stationary target and Pac as we all know ain't stationary.

Same goes to the other side. But Clinching isn't really hard to emulate anyway.

Just watch his sparmates, there are roughers, defensives and counter punchers, pot shotters and straight forwards.

And most of them are real welterweights.

I can assure you people . . . Arum will even double Valero's paycheck with his own money if Hatton's camp ask Valero to be his sparring partner. :D

. . . plus more $$$ incentives . . . if he can give Hatton a black eye and swollen face just like he did to DLH . . . before the scheduled fight on May 2. :deal

 :rofl  :rofl  :rofl  :rofl

Oscar camp said it was Ortiz who is known much bigger.

Valero said it was him who is know as much smaller.

Maybe both or could it be they're saying it was Ortiz because saying it's Valero would be much much laughable.

Valero is a good idea however with Floyd Sr., I think padwork and technical practice sessions are more important than sparring. It would be a tremendous experience for Valero and Hatton would benefit well, but I don't think Top Rank will let him in the Mayweather Gym. Collazo or Judah would offer a speedy southpaw style, but I don't think Sr. is looking for big name sparring. It's unnecessary. Sparring is controlled excercise, not gym fight, a less known name could be better.

The advantage of Roach is his own gym. There are lot of fighters and coaches w/ different types roaming around his territory. So it won't be hard to find good sparmates to emulate different kind of styles.
