The fight was sheduled to take place on November 15th 2008. Now, given that the Haye camp can not find an opponent, will the fight still take place?

Time is pressing as the opponent will need at least 5-6 weeks to prepare for such a big fight, maybe even more if he does not stay in reasonable shape between fights. Remember, Haye has been training since a couple months and has already an advantage. This could also be part of a strategy by the Haye camp.

He seems determined it will be that date. And last I heard it is still Jd Chapman in the other corner.

its his contractual duties from setanta to fight a ranked opponent

so if he dont find one it could be cancelled

He should just fight Toney. It's not like he (Toney) would train properly anyway, regardless of how much time he had.

Toney took training seriously for his last fight, and he looked in OK shape. Not great shape, but ok.

Word on the street is he stays in the gym and works out regularly, so he should be ready if he was to fight on Nov. 15.

I agree with you that Haye should fight Toney.

Haye should have announced his opponent already one week ago, and we still haven't heard anything precise from his side yet. I don't know if that's good news or bad news...
Either it's because his team is indeed in talks with some big names and things take time to be settled, or it's because they can't get an opponent at all because the money they offer isn't attractive enough to get a ranked fighter to travel to his backyard. If it's the second case it would be ridiculous since I remember Haye bragging about everyone in the division wanting to get that big payday by stepping into the ring with him...

Possibly, but I have my doubts it'll be against JD Chapman.

I get the feeling they'll have to rustle up a late sub.

i sincerely hope his opponent is not british, that heavyweight merry-go-round is just depressing and i wouldnt want haye to line warrens pockets!!

p.s. i love the way warren is calling haye chinny!! doesnt he remember the 54 seconds of amir khans last fight!? silly thing for him to say

definately wont be Audley!! Audley said in an interview on TV a few months ago words to the effect of "I'd really only want to fight David Haye if it was for a title....we're best of friends" When I heard that I equated that as " I dont want the risk of fighting David Haye unless the rewards are worth it...I dont wanna be his stepping stone"

Haye needs to get his big ass in the ring already instead of making out with Steve Bunce.
