Ruiz has a good chin and can spoil when he needs to. At heavyweight I believe Haye has good power and he can hurt Ruiz. If Haye is active, and breaks Ruiz down, then he may force the stoppage late on. Otherwise he wins a clear UD. Either is acceptable in my book but to drum up interest he needs to stop Ruiz and if he does, then he deserves credit for doing so.
Hard to say but I think Haye does get a later stoppage. Ruiz is a tough, experienced, guy with a solid chin. But he is getting old and has been a part-time fighter for a few years now. He has trouble with speed and Haye has that. I hope this is the last we see of Ruiz in any sort of meaningful fight. He's always been a solid heavyweight but is just too hard to watch. Haye by ko.
Well if Haye is as great as he or his massive legion of Hayeboys say then he SHOULD stop Ruiz. Ruiz is 38 and has had 1 fight in 19 months. This is a fight where Haye should look good. Haye in 6-8 rounds.
no ****ing way. if your going to put them british pounds on it....go for decision or win period ruiz is a frustrating guy to fight.... he will be more of a task than the sasquatch valuev solid chin...constantly huggin and hitting... can keep going even when there is no gas left also very battle tested with top heavyweights...prime or not. Haye is going to play it safe and try to box him. being the more adgile guy.... ruiz is going to be the one trying to be the predator bully. if haye fights a smart fight...he will carve up ruiz.... I don't see a "hayemaker" gettin ruiz down.
Isn't Ruiz one defeat to KO in 54, and you can't say he hasn't faced some big names (sorry if i've got that wrong, just what i thought i heard on the radio earlier). I am expecting a tko in about the 6th for Haye. I am dissapointed at the lack of respect being given to Ruiz though, he appears in better shape than for a long while, though older, new trainer/regime might have helped his chances. I hope for Haye to win and for Ruiz to bow out afterwards (i respect the guy).
Ruiz is as boring a fighter as the k bros. but he been in the game for a long time. I give him respect still. I like Haye and his banter...I have yet to be really impressed by him... I would like him to do well and fight a klitch. If Ruiz is a mere gatekeeper to that... then he better have a blowtorch... Ruiz aint there to collect a check... he still feels he deserves to be there and will give a war. hell...... someone gotta speak for "the quiet man" jim?
One things for sure, we will find out how hard the man can hit. Tua had ruiz all over the place from the get go.
Really anything less than starching the guy cold would be a let down. He has all the advantages. Speed, Size, Power, ability. Ruiz was at one point half decent, but now?
slay him then... should have slayed valuev like holyfield did...with that same heart...but of a young fighter going for glory. he might as well fight areola and add him to a dumb list.
This is true, also interesting is how Haye's hands hold out after several breaks. People are running this fight down but i think there are several questions to be answered and i can't wait. Not least Hayes stamina. Most people know what Ruiz is about at this level but even his shape is an intrigue.
