I see that it will be televised on Sky Sports PPV --- which is not available in the U.S. at present ----

if a heavyweight title fight is not even going to be offered in the U.S. - this is clearly another signal of how short-sighted the boxing business minds are.

I can't find any news noting that HBO or Showtime are even considering picking up this fight....

what a debacle that would be.

I'm sure if ESPN classic will pic it up if no one else did, like they did with Wlad/Chagaev, at least I would hope so.

"According to UK paper The People, ESPN has some interest in televising two upcoming fights that involve two of the biggest names in British boxing. The report states that ESPN is interested in televising David Haye's challenge of WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev, taking place on November 7 in Germany."

Valuev has only appeared once on U.S. TV -- HBO against Monte Barrett in 2006. None of his other title defenses were televised. Would be great if ESPN steps up again.

If it's in a UK paper, that's referring to ESPN UK, not American TV, I would have thought. The fight is confirmed for SBO now though....

That report was from like a month ago. If something had been worked out or was even close to being worked out, Dan Rafael would have mentioned it by now.

Maybe it ends up on ESPN Classic if they're willing to just get the exposure and not money, but I suspect it will end up being a small PPV, or possibly even an internet PPV on Don King's website.

    Valuev-Holyfield was on PPV.

HBO and Showtime have continuously declined to air Valuev fights though. He's boring and he sucks.

Haye fans shouldn't get their panties in a bunch. Honestly, I can remember the last time I say a Valuev fight on cable TV. And, of course, I would never pay to see one of his fight on PPV. I'd rather watch elephants humping.

Same thing with Chris Byrd and John Ruiz. But they found their way on U.S. TV all the time. Funny thing is, that Barrett fight in 2006 might have been Valuev's best performance. He became only the second fighter to KO Barrett (at the time).

I actually see Valuev beating Haye. If that happens he is the only real challenge left for the Klitschkos.

You guys really think HBO will show David Haye after his stunts with the two Klitschkos?

    Yeah right... LOL

All he did was talk **** about Wlad and Vitali, interrupting Wlad for stupid bits of trash talk "YOURE GONNA FIGHT ME NEXT!" ... "I DON'T WANT U TO GET BEAT BY 2 BUMS.. UNDISPUTED CHAMPION.. NUMBA 1" ... Then he had the nerve to compare himself to Holyfield!!!!

So he gets the fight and then what? He gets "injured." I highly doubt he even had a sprained ankle or something, but let's give him the benefit of the doubt. He sets up a fight with Vitali - honorable considering he couldn't take on Wlad anymore.

    And then what?
Cancels that fight too... I know about all the contract stuff, it's not important right now. Contracts are drafted by both parties negotiating, not only the Klitschkos! He wanted the British rights, he got them, then he woke up and realized he's a nobody and backed out the fight.

Why? To build his name off bums.
I'll be honest, I never liked David Haye from the beginning. But I gave him a chance. And now he's fighting Valuev for a "title"...

I hope this fight does not get aired in the States to show both David Haye AND Nikolai Valuev (I'm not over his decision to fight Holyfield and King's direction) that they will need to fight a Klitschko sometime if either wants any respect.

Actually, now that I think of it, the McCline fight was definitely also televised. What an awkward bout that was.
