Clearly he could have the fight now but doesn't want it yet. If he just waits till the K Brothers retire which could be in less then 4-5 years, he could have a great chance at being champ as everyone out there is beatable. The K Brothers are a mighty big obstacle for Haye if he is just patient and smartly sidesteps Wlad for a few years, he will be in position to take the throne.

A KO loss in June could destroy his confidence and image. Destroy everything. Clearly Haye underestimated Wlad's confidence and fearlessness and all the tough talk last year in the media and at the escalator did not intimidate WLad an iota. And when the bully intimidator fails in his attempt to intimidate, he himself becomes intimidated.

Haye may wait and build himself up in the K Brothers shadows, then take centerstage and go for the big prize when they leave, begin to fade, or get old. This might be the smartest strategy for Team Haye.

He can't beat Wlad now and he knows it. Everyone should know it now, especially after these bogus supposed failed negotiations. Wlad was willing to come to Haye's backyard and kick that ass for God's sakes. Does it get any more obvious than that?

"It's easy to perceive error than to find truth, for the former lies on the surface and is easily seen. While the latter lies in the depth, where few are willing to search for it." --Goethe

Boxing is 90% bluffs and you'd better believe that Mr. Haye has been working a few bluffs. David Haye HWT champ in 2014 sounds good though.

Longcount, Haye is avery good fighter, I love the guy's charisma, style, everything, he will be a great champion someday. But he wants out of fighting Klitschko in 2009 in the worst way. The timing is just not right. Wlad is at his prime best, he is virtually - or perhaps absolutely unbeatable right now.

Then why did he not sign.?:huh..Haye himself said money was fine, options were fine, then he couldnt secure the venue like he said, and at the last minute instead of puting the UK TV rights in ther pot (like he said he would) he wanted them all for himself.

Haye is excuse after excuse. Look at the way all the talks went with the other fighters when he 1st moved up... its on...its off....then switch to another fighter...and each time Haye blamed the other side for the contract breakdown......:deal

Haye has had 1 fight in almost a year now at HW.....Its time to STFU and fight

Funny how you say the "terms are a joke" yet team Haye said "the options and the purse split are fine...just working out some small little details"
He is wasting everyones time. I know what the purse split is...its more money then he has ever made....all this bull**** tells me that Haye is more interested in $$$ than "fighting the best guys out there" or "cleaning out the division"

I think you underestimate David Haye.No way is he getting blown away here.He may get beaten but he is by no means out of his depth or anything like. This is no kamikaze mission.Just astute decision making:hey:deal.

To answer the thread question,he is not wating for Wlad to retire. That'd mean waiting about 3/4 years I'd imagine. He wants to be retired himself by then.He wants to seize the throne by beating the best fighters in the world.that starts with Wladimir, then when he is done with him,Vitali is top of the list:deal

If the split was more than he has ever made and all he was interested in was $$,he would have to have signed for what you said to make sense?:huhDo you follow?

Haye is a likable guy, and hes got skills and power too, but if he isn't signing then people are going to call his bluff...

Pepper, don't ask Klitschko fans to not knock on Haye at the same time you call them 'sisters', it's hypocritical.....just STFU

Its not really 12 months is it CHEF you know that. Its not been 12 months since his fight with Enzo Maccarinelli. His fight with Barrett was in November, you should count his time as a HW from there in all fairness

I say he is interested in money only, because he changed the deal and wanted to keep all the UK rights after that was part of the deal that Haye was bringing to the table.

I dont think Haye is ducking,:-( but I am strting to wonder if he really wants this fight:huh

OK but it seems odd that the talks stopped completely dead because of a stadium:huh:huh

a stadium that would hold 40,000....then Haye's team lost the confidence in themselves to fill the promoting shoes of such an event

once again....its not just the stadium..although when the stadium revenues go from 45,ooo seats to max of 20,000 that a HUGE LOSS
    But

Wlad bring A,B.C to the table
Hate bring A,B,C to the table

purse split is based on what is on the table

Haye cannot produce A,B,C like he said

    Time for a new deal:deal

What is so hard to understand:huh
