I have little doubt Hrgovic would take it:

    1. Bigger payday than fighting Usyk (Dubois is getting relative peanuts and he has the UK Queensbury machine behind him)

    2. Probably a lot more winnable than fighting Usyk (especially given it's on 7 days notice and Joshua's already lost to Ruiz on more than 4 weeks notice)

No because McKean would have to agree to step aside and would also need a replacement opponent. Do you seriously think Joshua would agree to fight Hrgovic on less than a weeks notice, especially with the Wilder fight being planned next?

How much would McKean really need to be paid? As it stands he's getting whooped by Hrgovic for peanuts in all likelihood.

McKean could fight Chisora and get the favour for the future. A much more winnable fight for him. It can happen, it can happen.

The big problem here is not McKean, he is a minor player, the big problem here is Joshua. He will have PTSD from the last time he fought a late substitute. He will be trying to get Bellew to come out of retirement.

Pre Ruiz Joshua would have done it but he probably still has PTSD from what happened in that fight.

If it is offered to hrgovic I'll be surprised but if it happens kudos to Joshua, would do a lot to show he's mentally recovered from the Usyk defeats should he take such a dangerous fight on short notice.

It is not a problem to find a replacement for Whyte, but the problem is to find a less risky opponent for Joshua who would somehow ensure viewership, this is an opportunity for Joshua to show his heart and agree to any fight, but I doubt it.

Too much risk will be Hearn's assessment, it will be Chisora or someone at that level or below...

Nope. Hearn and Joshua are cowards. Hrgovic is better than Whyte and they know it.

Given they described Whyte 2 as D-day, then anyone better like Hurgo would be armageddon

Jarell Miller. They've been in contact with him when the Whyte bout was still uncertain.

I vote this, just for the irony of replacing one drug cheat with another.

Joshua wipes the floor with Hrgovic due to being slightly less robotic and slightly less stiff.

Should be very easy to make then. And Joshua would get a lot of credit for taking on a hungry undefeated lion on 7 days notice who has a win over Zhang, whereas Chisora or Washington in particular would look bad. Let's see what happens.
