He lost to Trinidad and Mosely. Why do you list those as "W"

I agree with most of this. I had Oscar up 7-1-1 through 9. Round 10 was very close but I gave it to Tito.

Is their some fantasy league I missed out on, where some of Oscar's losses were actually wins. LOL.

Some of his bigger name wins were over guys past prime

Whitaker, Chavez look great on resume, but both past it, especially Chavez

Camacho was way past it, still went 12 rounds

Leja also passed his best, was never great to begin with

The best guys Oscar faced, who were in or near their prime - Mayweather, Tito, Moseley - He lost to all of them.

Quartey was a great win. It was also a great fight.

So, yeah he had a great career, a Hall of Fame career. But, he certainly wasn't the best of his era. Maybe top 5.

I assume that he did that because both fights were clear robberies? I agree that it's misleading to label them as "W" though.

The fights you describe were close enough to go either way so him getting a decision doesn't change anything for me because the fights are still close.

I have Oscar ranked in the following places

    Lw: 10
    Ww: 14
    Lmw: 5
    Atg: 61.

He was a tremendous fifteen known for his attitude of facing every one.

    :-(

Chavez wasn't even on my original post, I don't count it, nor Camacho.

Leija was certainly not past it, ffs.

'He lost to all of them'. Oscar was past prime vs Mayweather. He clearly beat Tito and a steroided younger version of Mosley.

Whitaker was no more past prime than Mayweather is now. If Oscar were to beat this version of Floyd, people will be ranting and raving, you especially, how great of a win it would be. Well, Whitaker > Mayweather. Go figure.

    Devil's advocate time! :D

At the time, DLH was accused of beating on undersized fighters when he campaigned against Hernandez, Molina, and Leija. He was certainly a lot bigger than Jessie James and Molina at the time.

Didn't close the show against Trinidad and allowed Tito to close the distance enough on the cards for a (questionable) decision to go his way. Gave away the last third of the fight against Mosley the second time around.

Was also a lot bigger than Leija, Bredahl, and Molina. Got a lot of criticism for that at the time. Ruelas was probably better than Bredhal-but was made to order in terms of style.

Heck of a career...but the level of bravery displayed during it is open to a bit of debate.

I might well be in the minority but personally I think DLH in his prime would beat Mayweather. And the level of comp he fought, win or loose, was amazing.

Oscar has yet to get his due IMO, or maybe I just think more highly of him than many even though I wouldn’t say I am a fan of his.

I do think he was great, and would be competitive in any era. I think his resume compares well into contrasts with other eras as well.

I appreciated his willingness to fight top tier guys consistently. I find those who critique close and controversial wins don’t seem to give equal credence to close and controversial loses? But fan boys and haters seldom do.

I think some resent his popularity even early in his career maybe not having as difficult a road to the top as some others...I also think the media and publicity he received also rankles some. I think many don’t like his current role, and I am sick of hearing about fishnets as if they have anything to do with his boxing legacy,

I think top 60 is fair (mentioned above), and many would place him in that realm...but he does seem to generate a lot of dislike and harsh criticism...but people seldom hate mediocrity...rather it is his greatness that rubs many the wrong way.
